I'll be stunned if he makes it at saints. Far too lightweight and seems to run about like a headless chicken anytime ive see him. If Danny doesn't plan on bringing in a back up striker to help out Thompson then I hope the board take matters into there own hands and bring in another striker, it's a must.

What half decent striker is going to come in knowing that they are coming in as nothing but a back up to Thommo and might not get a game this season?

You said back up striker..........................Campbell is a striker.........................jeesus JJ, stop changing the goalposts.

How the f**k can we afford another target man? To sit on the bench till Thompson gets injured? blink.png

Thompson isn't fully fit, he's been carrying a knock and shouldn't of been playing the past couple of weeks, he's not fit. If you don't think we need to bring someone into cover for Thommo and give him a rest on the sidelines then that is worrying, very worrying indeed. You expect a 35 year old to play every game of the season? FFS

We need at least 3 players before Saturday.

Let's hope the management makes a better job of signings in January than they made in the summer.

What a mess they made in the summer, what a terrible mess. As supporters we are now suffering because of that terrible mess they made.

Let's hope Brian Caldwell, Danny Lennon, Tommy Craig and Paul Mather are considering their positions after said mess.

Let's hope the BoD are monitoring the situation.

Let me clear something up here Thommo is fully fit and is feeling as fit as at anytime in his career but it would be a stretch for any player to play in all game and we will revert to one upfront if he needs a rest or gets injured. The main reason why we are playing 2 upfront at the moment is that we can't drop Campbell or Newcastle will pull him

Someone like Parkin, never a world beater but can come in and do a job when needed. I personally wouldn't have let him go last season. Exactly what we've need the last few games.

What we need is two really good spl players with proven ability not loan signings nor youngsters. We need to take a tried and tested approach. Yes it will cost money but if you get a few wins and avoid the playoff it will be worth it. We desperately need to sort out the shambolic defence we have !

And yet the suggestion of Garry Kenneth was pissed upon.

Imagine, a "lumbering oaf" getting capped for Scotland. Posted Image

Before you jump into the net, just think where that puts our current central defenders.

Celtic had a lumbering oaf at the heart of their defence today!

Our fans wouldn't want us to consider him either probably.

Other than his girly squealing when the nasty bully Campbell gave him a wedgie... I thought he defended like a defender should!

Net...you don't have any maggots!

Kenneth was being capped at a time when Utd players were being pushed for no real reason. You can't judge him against our current defenders, who overall don't look too bad when you consider the Scottish scene in isolation, as it's different setups and considerations at national level.

Our squad needs a quality defensive midfielder...not Goodwinn...and a two wingers. Sadly, Newcastle don't have any for loan and our scouting sysyem is f**king awful. It'll need agent phone calls, but what agent will want to place a player under Lennon?

Some statement, with no facts to back it up.

As for "our current defenders, who overall don't look too bad when you consider the Scottish scene in isolation, as it's different setups and considerations at national level" you have to be fcuking kidding?

Our defence is shit, prone to individual errors, poor in the basics and all over the place.

Our goals against, quoted elsewhere, is shambolic and until we shore up the defence we will always find ourselves in the position we do now, flirting with relegation.

Every defence in the Premiership, aside from Celtic, are prone to individual errors. But, not all have Goodwin in front of them or playing at the very heart of it. We get crowds under 4,000 and have a manager who did nothing in the game, fighting relegation is where we are. It's what we can afford and where the knowledge on the sidelines will take us.

Watch Scottish football and forget about England down to League Two, the Bundesliga etc and you'll see there's really no difference across the league. McPake is prone to errors, Gunning, Wilson and all other defenders in the league are. I doubt the clubs f**k around as much just in front, which we haven't seen from McGinn, and maybe the ball sticks better up top.

Perhaps, just perhaps, at some point we'll look at the goals for column, the inability to convert, playing players out of position, having no real width, being shite at set pieces and an inability to get crosses in..oh and ST playing the Mehmet role instead of staying central. It can't all be McAusland's fault.
