Seaside Nipper
One Wonders why we signed him with his injury record. I'll tell you why, appeasement basically Like most of our signings, they are last minute.com efforts, ooc's or plain freebies, loanees, mostly because St Mirren are not a club of signing choice amongst players and their agents, we are a last stop shop, very much a bucket shop , poundland perceived club. Low basic wage and win bonuses Club has to sign players , fans always clamour for someone, something to freshen up the squad, offer something , anything almost, it's desperate Mostly the guys we get offer potential, may have been good, but are high risk. Vert few work out,, we got lucky with Goncalves, ffs , wow , and how. Then they shine , then they go.................... We get stung here time after time after time....................its part of the St mirren way

More of a firstminute.com signing than a lastminute.com signing. Edited November 9, 2015 by Dibbles old paperboy
Seaside Nipper
But wasn't Gow the first player Murray signed / re-signed for us? More of a firstminute.com signing than a lastminute.com signing. Maybe so, but no one else was having him ( football types knew his injury history but somehow we think it'll work for us , we'll heal him ) , plus we are local for him. It was a no brainer win for him , lose for us type deal yet again........shame, good player once , a long long time ago. If was any good he'd never have been on our radar, we winged it with him , we've clearly lost
Dibbles old paperboy
The last time Gow made over 30 appearances in one season for one club was 2006/7. A quick look at wiki shows he has lots of clubs where he plays less than 10 games a season for since then. This was always likely to result in this season's scenario, especially when he got a bad injury at the end of last season playing for us. I could understand Teale taking a punt on Gow last season after the window had shut and all we could try and sign at that stage were players without clubs... but to make him your first signing of the close season in a new club requiring a clear out... absolutely bonkers!
