And I thought it was easier............. Yesterdays answer is indeed A Fistful of Dollars, featuring Clint Eastwood in his first outing as The Man With No Name. Catapulting Eastwood into movie stardom it was also the first of Sergio Leone’s three spaghetti westerns to feature the gunman. As Clint arrives in town, he is insulted by some henchmen whom he dispatches easily in a showdown and which precedes the quote to the local undertaker.....“Get three coffins ready........my mistake four coffins.” Great score from Ennio Morricone. faraway saint
23 hours ago, faraway saint said: Saturday's movie..................... Ok so yesterdat's easy answer is Goldfinger, the quintessential James Bond movie starring Sean Connery. One of only two Bond movies named after the baddie (can you name the other?), the image shows the industrial laser that Auric Goldfinger plans to use on Fort Knox in Operation Grand Slam and which he demonstrates on a captured Bond. Fortunately Bond manages to talk himself out of an agonising death. Featuring a great villain, henchman, girls, plot, locations and action it ticks every box.....and then there’s the cherry on top, the iconic gadget-laden Aston Martin DB5! Well done Ned, a point well earned, like us yesterday in Edinburgh.

faraway saint
23 hours ago, faraway saint said: Sundays Movie.............. Yesterday's movie is the classic action movie Predator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and an all-star pre-Expendables crew. A crack military team is sent into a South American jungle on a rescue mission, only to find themselves being hunted by an alien species with superior weaponry and chameleon-like camoflage. The image shows the alien’s self-destruct mechanism which they initiate after defeat to the sole survivor Arnie. Shame the franchise hasn’t really taken off. The original is still the best. If it bleeds, we can kill it! No points, a slow Sunday.

For yesterday’s movie we go back to the Vietnam War for Apocalypse Now. Another hugely troubled production that tells of Captain Willard (played by Martin Sheen who suffered an actual heart attack during the filming) and his journey upriver into the heart of darkness to kill Colonel Kurtz, who has went rogue. On the way he encounters Robert Duvall (Lt Col Kilgore) who gives a scene-stealing turn filled with memorable quotes. The image shows Kilgore’s unique dress code and one of his best quotes. Well done Yflab & EAB.
