The Fergie's Furies Thread.

Recommended Posts

The greatest ever Team and era of my time watching St Mirren.

The cry from the Saints Choir was..

ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK

And we certainly got that from those legends . There was no other way to play.

Thanks to all.

This poster given out free to children on Christmas Day 1976 at Kilbowie Park.

Clydebank 2 St Mirren 2

The Furies were 2-0 down.

I was at that game. I'm sure Davy Cooper was still at the Bankies. They were our big rivals that season and were promoted with us that year. Sad to think Kilbowie no more and whats left is a West of Scotland League Club. The poster was on my wall for a good few years. Incidentally if you thought that game was a bleter you should have been at Cappielow for the new year game :)

The vast majority of matches that season were tremendous . Total entertainment with the way Fergie had us playing. The New Year game v Morton was fantastic, especially after we were 2 down.

What a season to treasure.

What would 80 pence be in today's money ?

Probably less than the. £28 admission price presently in Scottish association football.

Making an assumption that this photo was around 1974. The lowest I can put into this calculation is £1.

Fergie's Furies were doing this constantly in 1976/77.

ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK chanted the Saints supporters.

I’d say this is a better team goal from goalkeeper to striker against a team with far greater resources.

Had this been scored by either of the arse cheeks it would have likely been goal of the season.

You won't see a better counter attacking goal anywhere.

It was also an injury time equaliser. It was not just launch it and hope for the best. The opposition was filled with experienced international players…..plus Gregg Wylde!

I really liked Samsons delicate pass out after the ball was played to him.

An estimated 14000 Buddies attended.

144 Saints Supporters Buses made their way to Fir Park.

The Furies were brutalised by Willie McLean's hatchet men
