Is that  v Clyde at Love Street in the days when the home side changed in the league if there was a colour clash?
If memory serves me correctly the away team always had to change in a Scottish Cup tie even then

Correct on all counts Danny. That particular top above was red as you will know.

Red was generally our change top colour although we also had a navy blue top in that era. Not sure of the exact year.

Is that Steve Archibald behind Billy Stark and the other Clyde player in front of Tony Fitzpatrick the actor who portrayed Scouse thief Gary in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels?

Could br Danny McGrain cousin of the Celtic namesake? He suffered a very serious head injury playing for Clyde v Falkirk at Brockville

A year later , in the Cup, the team was officially named Fergie's Furies.

Incidentally, great attendances at Cliftonhill, Recreation Park and Somerset Park.

I believe if we had kept Fergie and Bobby Reid never got injured we would have won the league .

I believe if we had not lost Frank McDougall to a broken leg in the Scottish Cup replay and never went as far as winning the Anglo Scottish cup in season 79/80 under Jim Clunie we’d have beaten Fergies Aberdeen to the title.

Why did the club also sell Bobby Torrance mid season after McDougall’s injury to Hibs?

Torrance scored the winner for Hibs in a defeat at Easter Road at tail end of season.
That was Fergies first league title with Aberdeen.

I thought Jim Clunie invested well after departures of Fitzpatrick and McGarvey and was very unlucky that particular season.
