Because of holidays and work, this was my first time seeing the team in the flesh this season. I had watched a recording of the match versus Falkirk but it's not quite the same as taking in the new players, how they move on and off the ball etc. While not a great match, I think we did just enough to win.
I was very impressed with Ryan Carr, he looks a really good find. I think he will pick up some bookings but I think that's just the type of player he is. His endeavour will more than make up for any yellow cards he might pick up along the way.
I also liked the look of Chris Mochrie. I have to admit to not having prior knowledge of him so I don't know if I'm totally wrong here but out wide I'm guessing wasn't his usual position before coming to us? As I said, I don't know if that's correct or not. I think he looks a good find though and I like his overall play.
Samuel Ramos had some very good quality passes and looked a tidy and nippy player.
I think the way we play we might put some pressure on ourselves at the back but the players will improve on that the more they do it. You can tell they all work hard for each other and I loved the way we won a number of challenges deep in the St. Johnstone half towards the end of the game and keeping them pinned in their own half. Superb stuff!
Two wins out of two, top of the league and one of our players is top goalscorer in the league! You can't really argue with that!
