  1. Remember how happy we all were on 17 March 2013? And he was one of the guys who made us happy. Some of you guys should be ashamed of yourselves.
  2. I'm a tad worried. When Falkirk got themselves back into the game today, I have the feeling our manager ran out of ideas. If I'm wrong and it was 'options' rather than 'ideas' then we may have a rocky road ahead of us until the next transfer window.
  3. After attending today's game, lads, I've decided to go undercover. I am going to 'switch' allegiance to another club. I think I will 'support' ..... Falkirk .... or even better ...... Rangers. ...... now watch them plummet to the lower half of the league (and watch the Saints climb the table).
  4. What a team! Seven games. 14 goals for. Only ONE goal conceded! Oh flower of St.Mirren, when will we see yer likes again?
  5. What a relief! Great result (especially after the Scotland result) ..... and a great bargain there (must get down to Tesco Linwood tomorrow). Presume that's the Boston Lager? Just back from Virginia , USA (and was at the home of Sam Adams in Boston last year) where you can get it on draught. If you like the Boston Lager, you'll also like their Summer Ale and OctoberFest (also on draught over there - brill!).
  6. I can't believe that this topic has reached over 500 posts never mind that it actually exists. This is good money for the club (I was told it was £100K by the way). A lot of you guys really need to grow up. When Celtic have finished hiring our stadium, everything will be back to normal.
  7. Yep. When you come up to the roundabout and have to stop because there's a guy on the roundabout who is signaling right as if he is continuing around the roundabout - but then turns left, off the roundabout!
  8. I once studied the Malaysian King Prawn. What an Upper Crust Asian that was.
  9. Had to see 'the competition.' Verdict? I reckon he's got an excellent chance.
  10. Hadn't really pictured McGinn as a target man .... but there you go ....
  11. Yep, it was Thommo. He is reported as saying, "The pole went about a centimetre into his leg and he's obviously got quite a bad injury. The word seems to be he'll be out for around three weeks. I'm just mortified by the whole thing. It was a daft prank." However, according to STV's report, "As detailed by Robert Grieve's fine story in the Scottish Sun, an innocent training ground prank saw midfield star John McGinn with a training ground pole through his leg courtesy of Steven Thompson." (FFS - not like them to exaggerate!) Thommo also says, "Its a disaster" but really, did we miss wee John on Saturday? Like him as a player but he has been ordinary this season.
  12. I’m sorry to see him go. I agree that Cheesy wasn’t the greatest but he was definitely not the worst - and he had that added quality fans want, he is a fan and so, fully committed to the club. I think the criticism of him by certain fans was, at best, misdirected. Take last season. 5 clubs had a worse Goal Difference than us and 5 clubs conceded more goals (slightly different clubs - Motherwell conceded 2 more than us and they finished second top!). In the same season, we were the second lowest scoring team - the other one was Hibernian (who were relegated - remember?). Yet, for a lot of our fans, the problem was the defence ….. Guess what bit us on the bum this season? I would rather have a club that scores loads of goals - a least if you let in daft goals (and every team does), there’s confidence within the team that you’ll score again. Good luck, Cheesy.
  13. Depressing afternoon being a Scotland (and a Buddies) fan. Otherwise, what a fantastic ending to this years competition! After the Welsh defeat, I thought Ireland had blown it, but so glad I was so wrong. Then, after the Scotland defeat, it all turned around and it was clear England had a mountain to climb. Yes, they are the "Auld Enemy" and they have their fair share of annoying xenophobic plonkers (as do we) but it was a terrific effort on their part and, but for a French team that refused to lie down, would have pulled off a famous victory. Excitement to the wire. What a game! Well done, Ireland! (did I say I'm a quarter Irish?). Now that we can see the way things are going with the ladies, I hope Scotland finish bottom of their league - just so that we can say our women are less butch than theirs! 8-)
  14. Tut, tut! You're a charming fellow, aren't you? Humour bypass? I don't swear at matches. Which means you're the one stretching it. Eat your Snickers, oaksoft, you know you're not the same when you're angry hungry.
  15. I think we should have some new words. Like ..... Cripes! Crikey! Goodness me! Why, That's Fantastic! ... oh ... and .... Jings! Crivvens! Help Ma Boab!
  16. Guess what I think the name of the stadium should be? Love & kisses, Westmarcher
  17. I was born yards from the current ground (should we re-name it New Westmarch or simply Westmarch, as one other member said recently?) and like many forum members, have chosen not to live in Paisley for most of my life now. When I come into the town these days I am appalled at how run down it is these days. Part of the reason for that is down to a degree of mismanagement / certain lack of foresight by the town council but the main factors are still the recent recession and the rise of the Braeheads and Silverburns (why does Paisley still charge for parking?). We still suffer from being so close to Glasgow and always will both economically and footbally (new word - mine). :-) Many of my friends and relations live in Paisley. I visit often and I spend money in the town. If people would just open their eyes, they will see that culturally, historically and architecturally Paisley still has a lot going for it (maybe not for Tess who wants a lot of ponsie clothes shops). Its my home town and like my home town team, I believe we have the potential and will see better days again. (btw As for the language being foul mouthed, that is also correct - often confirmed in this forum. High time the support shouted encouragement rather than expletives)
  18. What annoyed me on that Dundee goal was that the No.2 (apt) who scored was blatantly offside by a mile in the move prior to scoring. I was in line and subsequently verified the position on the TV footage. The Dundee No.2 was blatantly offside when the ball was played forward to the Dundee player who laid on the pass for the actual goal. The No.2 was then back onside when the ball was passed to him for him to score. But he would not have been in that advantageous position if the linesman hadn't given it the 'Scottish cavalry at Falkirk in Braveheart' treatment and flagged for offside in the first place. I don't know what Gary said to the ref but I would not have apologised for what the media suggests he said sorry for. What I would have apologised for is implying that the ref's integrity was suspect. Because that my friends was Gary's downfall. Without actual evidence, you've just got to keep your mouth shut and your thoughts to yourself (.... and your pals ... and this forum). P.S. Didn't check the footage to see if the ref looked unsighted or at the linesman. Maybe the linesman had an agenda to make the ref look bad? Assistant referees ambitious to be refs? God help us even more! Rant, rant, rant ..........
