Rangers celtic nor Partick thistle are our rivals no matter what league we are in. Never have been never will be it is morton. Thus the reason we play them every year in the Renfrewshire cup. We don't getvyou play in the Glasgow cup because we are not from there irrespective of how close we are to Glasgow. We are in a PA postal code area as are Morton. Can this nonsense thread be closed.

There are certain people on here who know who they are without naming names that start with Lord....... That have an issue no matter what. YES it is a forum and we can DEBATE but that is very much different to what almost comes across as a tirade/hate for anything st mirren. We as a club are now championship we couldn't cut it as a bottom 6 team in the top league as such we needed to let go most of the squad from there and rebuild GOW is not most fans first choice as a signing but too be honest we are looking to move forward as a club not backward it's what happens now not back then. We have a certain threshold of player we can look at. And that certainly does not include players from Dumbarton that HAD an inferior defence record compared to ours. Would fans like us to do a sevco or what ever they fancy calling themselves and buy players or sign players above our financial constraints and effectively put us in serious debt I hope not we will challenge for top 4 there is no doubt

We are a championship team and as such we were not capable of a premiership challenge as you call it. So we are below that level you mention based on last season quite someway below it for now. Gow may or may not havecyou decent season but I highly doubt he got a years contract based on allegedly being a mate of Murray. Whether you or I or anyone agrees or bot with the signing is irrelevant. Gow needs to impress no-one outside the club to be honest only the management team. Murray stated he wants 8 signings. Gow is ONE of them personally what ever he has done of not done previously carries no credence with me it's what now happens come season kick off

I could not care about the moronic lot that go from Paisley to ibrox or celtic park every other week. St mirren have our hardcore loyal support through thick and thin. And the older ones try to get their kids to come and support us which is pretty much what those that go those in glasgow have done follow theirs dad's and uncles it's what happens in football following families. As for letting celtic use our ground I believe from what is being said it could be a double positive for us money in the coffers to help the club and also possible loanees coming in so from my personal point of view a win win scenario. As I say I couldn't give a toss about people following other clubs just what goes on at my club

We complain about the buses that leave Paisley every Saturday with fans heading to Ibrox and Parkhead, now the club are letting Celtic use our stadium so these fans don't even need to leave the town now.

He does not have to take it as soon as his previous club Dumbarton fc are finished in the league it's his holiday to take when HE chooses as until now he has had an assistant although he has no control over signings. Agree with you but ideally you would want Ian's assistant taking care of matters in his absence.From his record I do not have complete faith in Brian Caldwell completing deals.Priority now is for Ian to appoint his No2 and things can move in a positive direction.
