  1. Brophy was unlucky to hit the post, but we did squander our chances.
  2. What a wonderful thing for him to do! God bless him.
  3. I think fan ownership is extremely desirable. There are two problems, as far as I can see: i) Some fan owned clubs appear to be run by people who have no business acumen, alternatively important decisions may be put to the fans, whose votes may be determined by emotion rather than the financial interest of the club. ii) Some people have big egos. For example, the fact that somebody has been a founding member of their club's Trust, and have been actively involved in running it, may make them feel they should have a seat on the board. When such people are inevitably passed over for someone with more experience they feel resentful and then will spitefully try to undermine the club at every opportunity. However, I would like every club to belong to their local community.
  4. I was just looking to buy a dissertation. However, how can I be sure the dissertation will be of sufficient quality? Also how much would this service cost?
  5. I suppose it depends on the cost, I can only assume that the Dunfermline firm is cheaper. However, I totally agree that we should be using local people at every opportunity - especially those who sponsor the club.
  6. Gutted for them. They conceded two very, very late goals away from home, too.

I justed started a topic on this very subject. Any sources for this? It's a lot of money and, given our average wage, I think amounts to about ten players' wages.
  9. Now the two cheeks have qualified for the Champions League, how much can we expect to get as a result? Previously I have heard as much as £150k per club.
  10. https://www.ibroxnoise.co.uk/2022/08/farce-in-paisley-as-st-mirren-pay-price-for-axing-blue-pound/ 'unbelievable. I keep on dropping my aitches.
  11. Aye, this basically sums up my feelings, too. Nothing more to add.
  12. Number one away kit, according to Sam North:
  13. I'm the same, pal. My only fear is that it's a little premature. But, I would love to admit that: 1) I'm a dafty for wanting Robinson sacked at the end of last season (though I have resisted calls for him to go this year). 2) I've referred to Main as useless and a donkey, and he appears to have come good.
  14. Magic. I appreciate the light touch commentary, too. This forum has been a joy to read today.
  15. I'll be honest, I didn't even think about this match until this morning. If I had posted in this thread before the game, I reckon folk would have thought Elvis had hacked my account. Obviously, I'm delighted, and especially pleased for Main, whose goals were very well taken according to the BBC. Speaking of Main, I have never had much time for the big man...it looks as though he couldn't function under Jim, for whatever reason. Anyway, far too early to get carried away, but it's been a while since we won 3-0 away.
  16. I would urge everyone to use the ignore function! If someone's content is too obnoxious or abrasive then add them to your ignore list. I used it for the first time recently, and can attest to its usefulness. That said, I very rarely find anyone's content unbearable.
  17. https://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/20673755.stephen-robinson-confirms-alex-gogic-interest-free-agent-tipped-st-mirren-return/?ref=rss&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Published seven minutes ago, as I type this.
  18. I'm cynical, too. I don't believe it until it's been confirmed. But grounds for optimism.
  19. FYI, @SuperSaints1877, you have now been placed on ignore! That's quite an accolade, as I have never resorted to that before on here. The final straw was the meltdown about my use of childhood leukaemia as a hyperbolic description of Dawn French's comic ability. It was obviously the saddest, most tragic thing I could think of...something not funny at all. So for you to invoke Tony Fitzpatrick's personal tragedy in order to maliciously portray me as some sort of obnoxious monster is pathetic, and says a lot about your vindictive and nasty mentality. I will not be reading or responding to anything you write on here from now on. Ever.
  20. I actually agree with this! I find Dawn French visually offensive, and about as funny as childhood leukemia...and that is why I would never, ever go to see her. It's really not a difficult concept. What is pathetic is instead of telling the outraged punter that she's an imbecile, they pandered to her. Aye, I'm assuming it's a woman.
  21. You and I are on the same page about a lot of things, and, of course, I have recently been accused of being a Tory c**t. However I am contemplating going vegan, I cycle and take public transport as much as I can, I read The Grauniad (because it's the only free broadsheet) and I was at a party the other week that was hosted by three gay men...and yet I still find Sadowitz funny. I never liked Roy Chubby Brown, to be fair, but I thought Bernard Manning had his moments. At the end of the day there should be a disclaimer when buying tickets for shows like this, and then folk simply can either put up and shut up or leave. Hopefully Sadowitz sells out his tour and other comedians will realise that actually they don't need to pander to snowflakes.
  22. I have seen him twice. He is funny and a great magician, too. He has got his dick out, made obscene and racist jokes and made fun out of stuff like Madeleine McCann when I've been there. He's not for everyone, but if someone really hates his act and had no idea what they have got themselves into, why not just walk out?
  23. So you're justifying robbing the most impoverished countries on their planet of their medical staff? Absolutely disgusting! Naturally you're unable to debate sensibly without recourse to abusive language, also. Are you familiar with the concept of a 'brain drain'? If all the educated and skilled people leave a country, its prospects will diminish. For example, how are they supposed to build an infrastructure if all their engineers leave for the West? Oh dear! More ad hominem. Your profanity doesn't offend me in the slightest, but it does expose you for what you are! I suggest you read this and educate yourself, before suggesting immigration is a good thing: https://populationmatters.org/overpopulation-uk
  24. A declining population, or an ageing one? Here's a novel thought, instead of poaching doctors and nurses from some of the poorest countries in the world, resulting in worsening medical care fore their native populations, why not train our own staff? It's pretty callous policy to lure doctors and nurses away from the most impoverished people on the planet, so that you don't have to pay more in tax to fund our universities. You should be ashamed of yourself! We have encouraged an underclass who live on benefits, why not encourage them to work in agriculture and other such industries? I suggest you read this, btw: https://populationmatters.org/ I have thought about it!
