I thought that all contracts were lodges with the relevant authorities (either SFA or SPFL probably) and scrutinised to ensure that they comply with the rules of the association. Surely anything like a breach of minimum wage legislation would stand out like a sore thumb and the club concerned would be held to account there and then. A fuss over nothing I think. If he wants to play amateur then I'm sure he is ineligible and for any other level he is our player.

Watford - A Stark Warning To All Clubs
rabuddies replied to Ayrshire Saints's topic in Other Football
Well, the first one resigned because he couldn't get on with anybody at the club (including the players), the second one resigned because of serious health problems and wee McKinlay seemed to be a mistake. Quite right. Just because he's beeing running Udinese in Serie A for 30 years and also owns Grenada in La Liga doesn't mean he can walk into the English Second Division and think he can run Watford. -
It was ordered nearly two years ago and, contractually, they were obliged to take delivery. It, and four other planes that Tesco owns have already been advertised for sale. Bit of a non story really.

Millie and who? Are they a new reggae duo? Actually, he hasn't. Wants all the new powers offered and agreed to be implemented in 6 months (ie before the next election) and then he wants a constitutional convention for the stuff that Cameron pulled out the hat this morning on changes for English, Welsh and Northern Irish matters (which are presumably a Tory attempt to spike UKIP.). Edited for spelling.

Was he no the only "survivor" of 633 Squadron?

What difference will that make. -
Judge has only ruled out premeditated murder. Still a long way to go before final verdict.

Back from hols and just noticed that the British Film Director Andrew McLaglen (son of the great Victor McLaglen) died last week at the grand old age of 94. Directed a few westerns in his time, a few starring John Wayne, and a few other besides. He also directed TV westerns including an old favourite of mine "Have Gun - Will Travel" - I've even got an ep with the theme tune somewhere in the hoose!! TV westerns. I grew up watching them and there seemed to be one or two on every night. What larks! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-29051180

Must Be Seen... Ex-Uk Ambassador 'outs' Our Corrupt Uk Govt
rabuddies replied to Vambo57's topic in General Nonsense
He's a self-proclaimed human rights activist who now makes his money from speaking engagements and self-published books. He's been saying this for about 10 years, when he was bagged by the Foreign Office for telling tales about the Usbeki governments abuses of human rights and for claiming that the Usbeki Islamists were not linked to other Islamist militant groups (despite operating out of Taliban controlled territory). I don't think he's taken all that seriously by the "men in black" as nobody seems to be briefing against him. Having read some of his stuff I think that some of what he says is probably true, some of it he thinks is true but unsubstantiated and the rest is probably rumour and innuendo. Much like UKIP and the SNP really. -
I'll miss him. He was very good for us.

Interesting. She wrote this when she was 13 and recorded it when she was 16 when she relied on David Gilmour for production help.

So - nothing official yet?

On Radio Scotland last night it said he was likely to be out "for some time"? Take what you want from that!

Think the list says a lot more about Radio 2 listeners than it does about decent riffs.

Of course, they can only do this if Scotland is out of the EC. Otherwise, the Directives demand competitive tendering and, sadly, Ferguson's have been unsuccessful in getting this type of business for the last few years, apart from the 2 hybrids for CalMac. When they were awarded these contracts there was an almighty stooshie and some accusations of favouring a local bidder. It is all down to what the yard has the physical capacity and means to build and given the lack of investment over recent years it is very limited. Sad days.

As opposed to, if you're old enough you're good enough, as many a young man would say to young ladies on a Friday night!!!!

Peter Mackie was one of the most naturally gifted footballers ever to come through the system at Celtic Park according to an old workmate of mine who was an ex-Celt and a part-time youth coach for them. Unfortunately, when he ran out in front of a crowd he just couldn't cope with the pressure and never lived up to his early promise.

The only serious shipbuilding left in Scotland is that which builds for the RN and other countries and I would think that that is what the Yes campaign is referring to. Ferguson's is iconic but only because it's the last yard on the lower Clyde but it has been struggling for orders and investors for several years now. Ferguson's is a pretty small employer but it is still a tragedy to the poor sods that have lost their living. Sadly, the type of work that they do, primarily RORO's, can be done better and more cheaply elsewhere. Any attempt by wee Eck and his chums is merely political posturing as there is only one Scottish customer of note and that's Calmac. Christ, even the French can build them cheaper these days although they have a big tie-up with the Koreans, who certainly can build much cheaper components. Edited for typos.

The voice of the Saturday tea-time scores has sadly passed at the age of 78. Probably one of the most listened to voices on the BBC over the past 40 years. RIP. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28844131
