  1. What about waiting until we know who's staying?
  2. Which one did you get though?
  3. It did indeed. Bought a fair bit of furniture and fittings in the early 70's from the Old Sneddon shop. That was when the public sector bought locally. Sweenie, Jimmy Spence in Broomland Street and Archibald McKellar in Thornliebank did very well for a number for years.
  4. It did, it was metal on a chain. No idea if it was regularly replaced but my mum used to threaten me with a skelp if I went anywhere near it. Dirty, dirty. 🚱
  5. I didn't realise that former bud Stuart Taylor has been his assistant manager at his last three clubs.
  6. If you go online with the details included in your blue letter you have more than a dozen options for changing your location and time. It was easy peasy.
  7. Be fair, most people have better haircuts than you! 🦲
  8. When I attended the JNI in the 1950s we had never heard of it up at the primary but when I attended the JNI in the 1960s we always knew it as the Manac. All on the same theme but just a different interpretation.
  9. Come to the top of Newton Mearns at the Malletsheugh lads if you're looking for snow. Six inches and rising (Oooh Matron)!!!!!
  10. Aye, old doesn't come on its own. 💤 💤 🔥
  11. I think the criticism of Tait is a bit over the top. The player was always in front of him which is difficult with a straight hit ball. Now I say this having watched the game with a mix of soft focus and fairly constant buffering, so much so the Saints TV finished at least five minutes after FT on the web chat?
  12. A nice man with a good heart who lived a worthwhile life and left his mark. One could ask for no more. May your God go with you sir. RIP.
  13. The Isle of Wight is fifty years behind us!
  14. Loan with a possible deal in the summer. I think Turkish clubs stop paying foreigners after about 3 months so I'll be interested to see how this works out?
  15. Wednesday was his first competitive 90 mins in a while so there was probably a wee reaction. Right decision imo.
  16. Is it a loan deal like Brophy or a done deal transfer?
  17. Could this mean Foley is away? Wrong move all round unless we have a replacement, both in terms of ability and experience. We have been crying out for an old head in midfield for weeks now.
  18. I hadn't seen this report. I expected the 1918 / 20 period to be significantly affected by the Spanish Flu epidemic given that it was believed to have been brought into the UK via the Glasgow Docks. The Registrar General for Scotland report for 1918 recorded that 78,372 deaths (39,144 male and 39,228 female) were registered in 1918. The report confirmed that at least 17,575 deaths that year were attributable to influenza. This was probably an underestimation; some deaths were ascribed to other causes and complications due to the presence of influenza, for example, ‘bronchitis’ or ‘pneumonia’? Perhaps this means that the "flu" killed sufficient numbers in these times for the excess not to be considered excessive>
  19. Camphill in Foxbar opened in August 1968 as did the Institution I was being educated in although it had turned into a High School? As for football boots on a blaze pitch - what else could you wear? There wasn't a range of sports shoes available in those days. My first football boots circa 1963 had a moulded sole, covered the ankles and a round toe (and were about two sizes too big so I could grow into them). I didn't get a "low cut", 6 stud boot (Mitre) until about 1967 and they lasted after leaving school and my final pair were early 70's (Slazenger I think) playing works football till the mid 70's when I knackered my knee and was told I could get a cartilage operation in about 7 or 8 years on the NHS if the pain got so bad I had trouble sleeping? They said it was the fault of low cut football boots. Only other options were gym shoes and baseball boots and try kicking a Mouldmaster with either of these. I did get a pair of Adidas trainers in 1969 (Samba?) but they were part of the "hippy a bit" fashion scene and the never kicked a ball at that price??
  20. Particularly as his destination doesn't have a McDonalds. Probably the first thing he could think of as he couldn't tell them he was just stocking up the County Lines mob.
