On the subject of the shop, there are major plans for it's expansion. The plans are to double it in size, taking over an empty room behind it at present, and to incorporate the ticket office into the shop. They also hope that at the end of this season, or at the latest end of next season, that club kit will be sold in the shop, regardless of who s sponsor at the time. Current owners are very pleased with the way things are going up to now, even allowing for the limits imposed by JD's deal and are bringing in new lines all the time - just got a "Saints Wall Mug" for my office coffees and it's pretty snazzy!

Reading the comments on Rooney, sounded all too familiar.

Playing Thommo a bit deeper and having Shankland playing beyond him for flick ons would cause most defences in the league problems. Thommo still has a big part to play, just not leading the line.

Thommo still wins more than his fair share of aerial balls, and if you give him a chance in the box he'll more than likely put it away.
Nonsense to say he's past it, we just don't use him very effectively.
I'd like to see him form a front pairing with Shankland as I think they would work well with each other but we'd have to give them an extended run in the team and not just 15 mins here or there.

Ach Billy, that wasn't how I saw it. They took of Howieson who I thought was having a good game and they put on McMullen. The shape went to a 4-5-1 but it wasn't defensive. McMullen and Gallagher were supposed to be used to get the ball wide into advanced areas of the park - I guess to try to take more advantage of the kick outs that Langfield appeared to be having some success with in the second half. McMullen is a bit of a luxury player in that he doesn't track back and he doesn't appear to like to tackle so I don't think the substitution could be considered as defensive even though the tactical change may have looked it.
What opened up the game for Livingston was the change Burchill made 3 minutes later when he brought on a forward (White) for a midfielder (Gibbons) and went more direct. They were able to put far more pressure on Baird, who wasn't having a good game at all, and it certainly created more goalscoring opportunities. Goodwin and Agnew also dropped deeper and stopped challenging so far up the park, I guess to try to provide some protection to Baird and if I was going to be critical of the changes at all it would be that it took far too long to get Carswell on for Agnew who clearly isn't fit enough to last 90 minutes.
St Mirren never looked comfortable in the game though. The passing was poor throughout and I really can't remember St Mirren having any good spells of possession and, particularly in the latter stages, the game intelligence to take the ball into the corners and to hold onto the ball in there just wasn't there.

More than that, the match that really appealed to me today was Wishaw v Johnstone Burgh and at 1pm I was going to Beltane Park.
Anyway I thought St Mirren were poor throughout. At no point did St Mirren look comfortable in possession and they always looked vulnerable at the back. Baird had an absolute bombscare and had Livingston converted their penalty St Mirren would have been in real trouble.
Great goal by Mallans. Goodwin was man of the match for me and Howieson played well until Murray hooked him. Another thing I found really frustrating was the delivery into the box. St Mirren have Thompson and Webster up for set pieces yet every single ball played into the box was poor.

Just in, roadworks on Forth Bridge were horrendous, but who cares; my wee girl is finally celebrating seeing her first Saints victory and what a goal to win it.
Great 3 points, but sitting back 2nd half(again) was hard to watch. Langfield was superb for us today and good to see wee McMullan back running at defences.
Murray still has to sort our shape/tactics for our next few games, but a wins a win. First beer of the night tasting good.

    Wee update from Kenya ......
To any/all those that supported my 'Kits for Kenya' appeal, a wee update ... Voluntary project is now in full swing - the bulk of the tops will be 'presented' this weekend to the Chaka Youth Football Project (photos to follow). In the meantime some selective presentations being made - here is a very happy Pastor John - a key person in the charity we are supporting - fair to say he is Proud To Be A Buddie ???? Thanks again for your support fellow buddies.

Some folk have short memories. We were 2-0 up against Falkirk and cruising, they pull one back and we all know what happened next. You should notice that I said that it 'could' have been a repeat of Falkirk, not saying that it would have been like that for certain.

    Oaft, we were shagged.
Was in shock at how poor we were, that was awful eye bleeding stuff, you can only commend you lot for capitalising on that in brutal fashion.

There is a Mini Fanzone on the Concourse of the West Stand tomorrow.
    Lots of activities for children.
Bit late advertising this for those who have purchased tickets for other Stands.
And also, most weans will be in the South Stand.
    Better in the Car Park.

While we have scored 30 goals in so many games it is worth remembering we are playing f**king dross 8 weeks out of nine.
I think St Mirren will win 2-1, we got beat by Tommy Craig last year, personally I find that more embarrassing than finishing 7th.
    Tommy f**king Craig, Jesus f**k.

Always makes me chuckle when there is outrage from fans about a player earning "over £1K a week".
These guys might get fairly well paid, but remember that their career can be over with one bad tackle, and regardless of that it will be over by the time they are 35 unless they move into coaching or management.
Even when they do move into that game, most will fail, all will be sacked at some point.
The players down south that get paid £200K a week, fair enough, that is obscene, but I don't think it's at all unreasonable for a footballer playing for us to earn £1k to £1.5K a week. It's all relative.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion have no problem with that. However to come on and say I am not coming back because we are shit is a different thing. Why come on and tell us. because these fans will be at the next game or the one after that. Things are not great we all know that.
    Edit to add
Nut a super fan. However given paid £36.00 for the ferry , £60.00 for a hotel then other costs with going to the football. So you might think paying that out would piss me off. Im not it was my choice and still think we can come good if we can cut out the silly mistakes and more thought into substations. Murray has been brought in for the long term , of course if he took us up then we would be a stepping stone for him . If not then the board will look at the long term for Murray. My opinion.

Home game and we start off with a back 6 inviting the opposition to walk all over us in our own half. Tactic is to punt hight balls to a penalty box striker. Madness. Second half we have one sitting midfielder, a partner for Shankland and overlapping full backs. Difference is night to day. Why not start with that or at least change it when we were being overrun? And why the f**k was Gallagher taken off when Carswell and Howieson were still on the park?
