First class should guarantee it but you might find that a 2:1 may be enough if there are no other candidates. Few people go on to do PhDs so don't lose heart. I'm working with one guy now who snuck in with a 2:1 but nobody else wanted that particular project so they relaxed the rules. Lady luck came calling.

If you get the 2:1 and you fancy a PhD just make sure you ask around before giving up. Good luck.

Oaksoft and PhD in the same sentence doesn't sound quite right

Honestly Oaksoft Phd is like a whole different world to me!!! I never thought I'd get to this level but just shows you what hard work and determination can do. Got assigned my dissertation supervisor and it's the head of 4th year so i'm happy with that even tho not my initial choice, he has been head for 5years now and the average grade has risen significantly during his time.
