  1. Happy Fathers Day to all the dads! Irrespective of the situation you may find yourself in - big shout out to all the Saints supporting Dads! And a personal thanks to my dad for being the one who introduced to this lifetime addiction of joy and pain that is St Mirren!
  2. I've got a great feeling about this season......
  3. Met this gentleman a few times - last was Stockport pre season a few years back Seemed a top bloke and obviously Saints to the core Respect to the family RIP
  4. Wouldn't it have been nice that on the day we announced the signing of a new player ahead of an exciting new season that for the press pic new player could have been decked out in the new kit ? Positive press Good reaction Feel good factor ..... All opportunities missed? Could have pulled in some kit sales - sold a few season tickets or even a handful more #buythebuds Interestingly Tranmere signed new player today - they also have a Jd / Cabrini sports deal - their new player wasn't in next seasons kit either!!! However at least the article had the player posing in a Tranmere tshirt which said was one of a new range available in club shop ! Do we just miss a trick every time - or as a club are we just generally not arsed
  5. Every year I hope for a Tranmere Rovers - Chester city - Wrexham mini tour - BBQ at mine after each match!!
  6. Ive played in a few Saints for a day - scoring at each ends of love street against our baldy webmaster!
  7. It's exactly the same at Tranmere Rovers - Same JDesque contract and oodles of shirts in the stadium club shop
  8. I in agreement with Stuart on this point Having watched Tranmere for 20 years and there recent decline to Conference level with crowds of over 5000 they could still out muscle most Scottish teams in the Transfer market - yet they choose not to as there is an abundance of talented hungry youngsters and seasoned pro's to choose from without plundering the Scottish talent So the model employed by Terry Butcher at Inverness signing players from the English lower leagues and making them a success in Scotland is a simplistic one but also a successful one. Ash Taylor at Aberdeen and David Raven at ICT are just two current Rovers players employing their trade north of the border. Even both of the ugly sisters are seeing value for money signing players from lower leagues south of the border. I hope Mallan stays for a few more years and develops for a few more years - then gets his big money move to Tranmere!!!!
  9. Mark Brezeski Big Country Sean Moore - manic street preachers Richard Colburn Belle and Sebastian

  18. I made gooseberry vodka this year from the bumper crop of gooseberry from my garden - I added 750 ml of Smirnoff and 18 table spoons of sugar to a Demi jar - and left it for four months in my summer house - I then strained the mixture and let it stole before repeating - I've served it from a glass decanter with ice and cloudy lemonade- it's a winning combination!
  19. My only advice to my son regarding his job or career would be - Son - I love my job - I've enjoyed the 20+ years I've done this job - but it's not the job I signed up for - it's a thankless task - I'm at the top of my pay grade - I haven't had a pay increase in 5 years - I do however get a 1% cost of living allowance- but that's discretionary by my local authority - I frequently do many hours a week above my supposed work life - it impinges on my work life balance. Son - don't be a fool - there are many easier ways to earn good money with prospects and a good holiday allowance. Get a trade - I believe pipe fitting is lucrative.
