Me too. It would be with a heavy heart to walk away from the club i love but we cant bend the rules to suit one team. Scottish football is more than rangers or celtic

Fair enough bud, I can't criticise anyone for feeling like that.
I too am disgusted by the proposal and particularly the way it has been worded, but I see the strength of feeling all the way through the leagues and believe the fans will ensure this fudge doesn't happen.
Rather than try and kill our own club, we should be trying to kill the proposal. In my opinion.

Did you register more than 1 member to the 1 email address when you filled out the bank details?
    I have this problem.
Filled out a membership for the wife also on the CIC site. When it asked for the email address it said it was for go cardless only. Received 2 forms but can only complete 1.

Rangers being in the SPL is not the issue.
    Let's make this point absolutely 100% clear yet again, as I am not sure you got it the first dozen times it was said;
The bid is not dependent on Rangers being in the SPL.

And the St Mirren swing-on-meter once again swings wildly from one extreme to the other!
Look read the info for what it is. The deal is still on and 10000hours members will be consulted on the Newco vote. Thats what the majority of members wanted and its being delivered. Now hopefully the SMFC board and 10000hours will provide the arguments for and against so members can make a rational decision based on the facts.
To be completely honest I'm delighted that 10000hours will not be forced to buy the club at what is the worst possible moment. Lets step back and see how it plays out instead of all this ranting wild eyed speculation

The problem we (10000hours) have is that we are buying a business at the end of the day. A business that takes over 60% of it's revenues from commercial SPL TV and Sponsorship deals.
10000Hours need some assurances about the future of these deals before we, or our funder, can commit to the deal.
The selling consortium can't currently guarantee these deals will still be in place (nobody currently can) and they are similarly concerned about our ability as a fledgling organisation to deal with the nightmare scenario of those deals disappearing or being drastically reduced almost overnight.
So it is prudent and sensible for both parties to wait until there is more clarity on exactly what the position is before proceeding on either side..
The size of the bid made is what we can afford to pay back and we have managed to monetise the additional £4k per month in direct debits we have received from individuals in order to make the up front bid as attractive as we possibly can.
Be in absolutely no doubt, our deal is NOT dependent on NewCo being in the SPL, but our deal is very much dependent on St.Mirren FC being able to trade in the SPL as a going concern. The TV and sponsorship money the club takes from the SPL is a huge part of the clubs turnover whether you or I like it or not.
If 60% of the clubs income was to disappear overnight, with a playing squad of 23 or so first team players all contracted to be paid this season based on that revenue being there then the club would be in serious trouble.
The board want to gather the fans opinion on the NewCo vote but they also want to make absolutely sure that the fans are given all the necessary information to allow them to make an informed decision rather than a knee jerk one.
None of this is negative in any way, it's just plain common sense.

No real capacity, I was there representing 10000Hours along with Richard, Gordon and Tony Fitz.
Although I have no wish to stand (and indeed definitely won't be standing) for any position of responsibility in the organisation post takeover I have invested a lot of time into the bid over the last few weeks so it was felt beneficial to have me there today.

Commercial / corporate 'bawbags' have sponsored St Mirren down the years and greatly helped the club, in areas such as shirt sponsorship, trackside advertising, programme advertising, sponsoring players, taking tables in CKs matchday suite, helping sell out the Premier Dinner at the Normandy, contributing greatly to long-serving players testimonial events, or, or...
Some of these 'bawbags' are known to me and they are every bit as passionate about St Mirren as an ST holder, a pay-at-the-gate punter, or those far-flung Buds' who cannot get to as many matches as they would love to.
In this economic climate, it's a tough task to sell 3k or 25k packages to these 'bawbags' - who rightly have to look at the baw-bees as the rest of us do. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the 'bawbag' take-up is lower than hoped, but the overall momentum gained so far gives me hope that a deal can be done. Individual memberships are on a roll - I'm convinced that the corporate 'bawbag' sign-ups would increase if the CIC launches. The same applies to individual take-up too of course.
Hopefully the selling consortium can see the momentum gained, and a deal can be brokered to get the ball rolling in earnest.

I mentioned it to all ten of my followers on Facebook. My wife and Mum wrote back to say they weren't interested. My two sons said they would sign up if I give them more pocket money. My boss told me I was supposed to be working. And the other five haven't responded so I'm guessing they are still considering it???

the 87club and 1877 is developing all the time. For example we just had another 87 club in the last hour so we are now 3k better off than Friday. It obviously takes a bit of a chat and discussion for folk to sign up to 87 and 1877 but on Monday we will assess the situation and crack on and keep everyone fully informed. Bottom line just now is the more pledges we get in all categories the better for bringing this deal to a conclusion next week.

Ive been fairly quiet on this subject of late as discussing it on here with any hope of sense has at times been difficult.
    I am In.
I encourage everyone with the best interests of our club at heart to get in on this and to get in on it NOW!
As Div (forum username of our moderator, the man known in the real world as David McDonald) said, the bid may not be perfect but
IT CAN BE RESHAPED FROM WITHIN
To have a say in the running of our club, to be able to cast a vote, to be able to speak on any matter concerning the Saint Mirren professional football club with the knowledge that "you tried", then you need to complete your direct debit mandate and you need to complete it tonight.
The time for nonsense is over, the time for action is upon us.
Take it from a very old man like me, in life the biggest regrets you will have are the things you DID NOT DO rather than what you did.
Sign up tonight, lets make this work and lets ensure the future of the Saint Mirren professional football club pte ltd co.
Please do not let some of the nonsense spouted on here put you off. This is a one time chance and I sincerely hope that together we take it.

You keep on saying that 10000Hours has lost fan/community representation. Just because you keep saying it does not make it true.
The club needs an interim board on day one post takeover.
Gordon has sat on the board before, he knows the score.
Tony knows the football side and is a successful businessman.
Richard knows how to engage with and grow links with the community.
That looks a strong starting line up for me. I'd certainly like to see the fans represented on that initial board, someone from SMiSA would seem logical for a start but they are currently on the sidelines which is a bit of a shame. Someone else representing the local community would also be good.
It will then be up to the CIC members to put themselves forward for election at the AGM, and I assume those on the board will most likely present themselves for re-election assuming it has gone well.
The project you were right behind a few weeks ago is not fundamentally different today other than having a very clear route to completion and having an additional layer of non-execs whose presence both shortcut the repayment process and potentially adds a bit of commercial nous to the whole organisation.
I can't see how any of this is bad but I can't keep pointing out the bleedin' obvious. People will make their own minds up.

It is important the initial 5 man board has the required experience to help us set this up properly. There is no point in bringing people on for the sake of it.
As per our statement on the website Tony and I will ensure continuity on the football side of things till the AGM and Richard will deal with getting the CIC side of things organised.
Do we need anyone else? If the right person comes along that can help us then I would like him on board. If not I am happy to run with 3 until the AGM.
Small point but both Tony, Richard and I are all CIC members.

I'm amazed that a proposal that has halved the amount of borrowing, has brought the 48% of other shareholders fully on board and has put final dates on the completion of the deal is being met with such negativity !
Appreciate that many are weary with all of this, but this is it. 24 days to decide whether you are in or out.
This is our chance to ensure the club remains in the hands of the supporters. Once in a lifetime opportunity.

I didn't back the original CIC as I wasn't happy with the proposed structure of the CIC board where the majority vote could fall to corporate, community & RA but I'm OK with the new set up of one member one vote.
Haven't pledged yet but I'm waiting on 87 club details from RA to see what that's all about before I make up my mind what membership to take.
Never want our club to fall into the wrong hands and the new structure for voting is fair so I'll get behind it.
