Sturgeon did absolutely fine yesterday and frankly this should be closed down right now as she has no case to answer. This is a creepy man (Salmond) pulling the usual creepy man shite by trying to deflect the blame for his self-confessed creepy behaviour onto someone else by playing the victim card. He should be hunted for the utter c**t that he is.
Those who think Salmond performed better might want to consider that he made no attempt whatsoever to apologise to the victims of what he himself described as his inappropriate behaviour whereas Sturgeon made a point of doing exactly that.
The bigger picture is that Salmond made it all about him. Sturgeon showed plenty of empathy and humility about her own failings.
That will have gone down very well with the electorate and is why she is the only game in town when it comes to running our country. There isn't another politician at Holyrood fit to lick her boots right now.

Of course it's off the Internet, didn't you read the credit at the beginning? It's from an English socialist who understands and is supportive of what Scotland is trying to do. As are many other English people barring the odd exception.

To answer your question (and again it's unashamedly off the Internet and took me around 30s to find), "McLeish resigned as First Minister in November 2001, amid a scandal involving allegations he sub let part of his tax subsidised Westminster constituency office without it having been registered in the register of interests kept in the Parliamentary office. The press called the affair Officegate."

So not relevant to the FM's case whereas those I quoted are direct comparisons.

Here's a summary of the current state of play by Another Angry Voice

[emoji838] Priti Patel sacked for breaching the ministerial code by holding treasonous secret meetings with foreign state officials, aimed at siphoning off the UK aid budget into their illegally occupied territories.

Tories: Let's bring her back into government, and put her in charge of the Home Office, that'll be good for a laugh.

[emoji838] Tory Housing Minister Robert Jenrick breaches the ministerial code (and the law) by colluding with a property developer diddle £40 million off one of Britain's most deprived local councils.

Tories: This is all a fuss over nothing. £40 million is mere pocket change to people like us. He can stay in his job.

[emoji838] Tory Prime Minister Boris Johnson unlawfully suspends parliament to evade democratic scrutiny of his shambolic Brexit bodge job, then bare-faced lies to the entire nation that he's not creating a regulatory border between Northern Ireland and mainland Britain, when that's precisely what he did do.

Tories: This is all above board, and Boris is doing a fantastic job

[emoji838] Priti Patel is found to have breached the ministerial code again, this time by savagely bullying her subordinates to such an extent that one of them was reduced to contemplating suicide, and another highly respected civil servant quit his job claiming constructive dismissal.

Tories: We must "form a square" around Priti. She will not be held to account over this.

[emoji838] Tory government ministers repeatedly and egregiously breach the ministerial code by briefing major policy announcements to their chums in the corporate media, instead of announcing them in parliament, as stipulated in section 9.1 ("the most important
announcements of Government policy should be made in
    the first instance, in Parliament").

Tories: Why on earth would we announce things in parliament, where opposition politicians could potentially hold us to account, when we're guaranteed the easiest possible ride whenever we leak the plans to friendly hacks in the right-wing propaganda rags?

[emoji838] Tory Health Secretary Matt Hancock uses the coronavirus pandemic as an excuse to launch an absolute orgy of corruption, handing out £billions in untendered contracts to his spivvy mates, tax-dodgers, scammers, empty shell companies with no employees and no experience of medical procurement, and even his former pub landlord. Furthermore he's found to have acted unlawfully by keeping the details of these ridiculously dodgy untendered contracts secret.

Tories: This is so unfair, all the corruption and lawlessness we engaged in was necessary because our policy of deliberately allowing the virus to spread in the crucial early stages created absolute pandemonium!

🟠 SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon is accused of breaching the ministerial code over her handling of the false accusations against former SNP leader Alex Salmond.

Tories: This is an absolute disgrace, Sturgeon must resign!

I've seen reports that the SNP picked up another 7,000 new members yesterday on the back of this farce, so, to answer your question, there's not a chance she'll lose her job.

TBH totally agree. He is not kicking on from initial involvement and his passing is not up to scratch. Time to withdraw the contract and get Flynn into the team. The only current midfield player who should be a stick on is McGrath. The rest are struggling just now.

I hope you’re right Oaky but I have serious doubts.
whilst I would hope that any serious independence supporters could see past the machinations of a few rogue politicians, if this turn out to be true I fear oor Nic could’ve kicked the independent movement squarely in the bollocks.
And IF it turns out to be true, I will be genuinely disappointed as I was daft enough to think that Nicola Sturgeon was a rare breed of politician who played with a straight bat.

It's hard to believe that anyone outside the tiny fraction of people who make up the rabid supporters of political parties and journalists, are going to give the slightest f**k about this legal advice pish and calls for her to resign.
The only story in town is covid.
This is just politicians, yet again, forgetting their importance in the scheme of things.

Bobby Holmes who was the physio.
Spent a lot of time in his physio room when I was at University, trying to get  a groin strain and then torn ligaments fixed.
McAvennie was never out of there.

It was perfectly reasonable to be critical of that journalist.
For a professional, she did a sloppy job of preparing that broadcast. If she has a track record of these types of mistake then it's reasonable for criticism to grow.
It doesn't need comments like yours which seem to have been dredged from the bowels of a Daily Mail readers comments section.

You are spot on but we will go into the summer knowing who is leaving and have a chance to bring in more players. Overall JG and the Team have done pretty well in the transfer market and as we move up the attraction is better for better players to come in hopefully.

Well you should know if you've been injured it can take a while to get fit and then match fit. And most strikers fire better all round when the confidence is high.... Lee is no world beater, but he may well yet show us all he is a decent striker - I do hope so !

    I think we’re f**ked now for top 6.
I fancy St. Johnstone to win their 3 remaining games, meaning we need at least 6 points and hope our goal difference doesn’t take a doing against Rangers or that St. Johnstone rack up too many goals with their victories.
on current form I can’t see us beating County or Accies. Two more draws on the way there I fear.

Very poor tonight against an equally poor Well side. Only Tait and Fraser got close to pass marks. The Erwin thing has been done to death - I can't see why we persist with him. Obika is only slightly better.

That was a junior/amateur level display tonight - we were miles behind Motherwell in our performance. Could not control the ball - every loose ball was looped up into the air in blind hope. We could not string three passes together and were fortunate to come out of that with a point. Our striking options are so limited as things stand at the moment. No wonder Elvis has ended up as he is.

That was tough to watch. Absolutely no creativity or even basic ball control. The three central midfielders were playing far too close together and stifling each other. Fraser solid as a rock and we seemed to have a little spark when Connolly came on, albeit for ten minutes! The only saving grace is Motherwell have gained no ground on us.
Goodwin likes the sound of his own voice in the press and talking the talk about all sorts of things. I think he should concentrate on walking the walk with his own team.

Dreadful stuff. Given that they lost 4 to two other not great sides and we didn't even have 4 shots on target, this was a poor show from us.
Our headers went to Well players, their headers went to Well players - at times it looked like they had an extra man.
Our passing and final balls especially dire.   Obika a real disappointment tonight. We were not great in the middle of the park...
So thankfully we were okay defensively !  Best player Crawford for them - that's a shocker !
Our two bookings were both a joke !
But we are 1 point closer to Livi. 1 point further away from the teams below (except Well)  and we've got RC up next.... we will need to compete better in that one for sure...

I’ve come to a conclusion tonight that to be honest was probably pretty obvious.
That’s us now drawn 4 times on the bounce with teams that look pretty shite. This unfortunately suggests we must be pretty shite too.
