  1. It's certainly harder to spend your hard earned cash watching a poor team. But, it's always going to be the way I choose to spend my Saturdays because, for me, the good games are worth it. And most games have something. Even tonight, Mallan's free kick was the entry fee for me. If it's not worth it for other people, I understand, but I've seen worse teams in the past and I know I'll see better in the future. Hopefully sooner rather than later,
  2. Their entire approach to the game was disputable. I sit behind the dugout and even the behaviour of their back room staff was a disgrace.
  3. I had wondered this, would be a strong team. Only draw back I can see Is that we wouldn't really have a place for McMullan, who I believe should be playing every week. Unless he could play up front. But a centre half trio of Kelly, Webster and Baird is interesting.
  4. You haven't been impressed by Agnew? Or Mullan? Langfield, although not signed pre-season, is also looking like a great bit of business.
  5. Don't get the stick Carswell is taking, maybe he's not a hugely exciting player, but he's composed, comfortable on both feet and seems to have a nice range of passing.
  6. That kind of common sense thinking isn't welcome on this forum, and you're certainly not allowed to look at the big picture...shame on you...
  7. He'll be a fantastic player for them if he can stay fit, and I really hope he does, wish him all the best.
  8. I phoned Morton this morning, they aren't sure whether the police will allow them to sell away tickets at the ground. They said they won't find out til mid afternoon. Which isn't much use to anyone, other than to say, if you can make it to St Mirren park at all, do it
  9. He's been starting quite regularly has he not?
  10. Just glad it sounds like both are happening
  11. You're kidding yourself if you think we'll get another player of Webster's calibre to give us the time of day. He'll have other offers, and if it takes him another couple of days to choose us, I'll still be happy he did. Why drive him away and end up with no-one or someone shite? Brainless
  12. Good signing if true, I remember him playing against us, was surprised to hear he was without a club. If fit, he'd be a good addition for most top flight teams. Add Webster and Shankland and I'd be delighted!
  13. To be fair, there are plenty of pipes in Paisley, more than a few tubes too...
  14. Based on last night, I would agree.
  15. I think he looks alright, he maybe lacks a little bit of confidence or match sharpness, the only error I saw him make last night was to try and take an extra touch when a first time shot was probably the best option. But that will hopefully come soon, he could do with getting his first goal under his belt, then hopefully he'll settle, did very well to set up the winner. A bit early to judge him yet.
  16. I'd actually feel a bit more confident with our defence being so young with Langfield behind them. Anyone standing behind the goal at Annan last night will tell you he's constantly on at the defence and the deep lying midfield players, and speaks to them with real authority. Webster would add a bit more of that outfield, which could only be a good thing, but I was impressed with Langfield last night, think he could be a very good signing for us.
  17. Bigger teams than us have tried to temp him into full time football, and they would have been offering more cash than we could. Also worth remembering that Andy Barrowman scored a shed load in the lower leagues but could never reproduce it in Division 1 or the SPL, so even if we could get him, there would still be an element of risk.
  18. Correct.A fit Andy Webster would be a no brainer for a club at our level. As far as his "come and get me" interview, he'd be an idiot not to want to evaluate all his options thoroughly before making any decision.

  20. So does Jack Baird, it's as much about attitude as physique.
  21. His first game wasn't the best, but I thought he settled well and quickly looked a class above. That said, I'll still give Conlan a good chance to show what he can do. One thing's for sure, the boy himself will be absolutely determined to pick up and prove the doubters wrong, I'm sure we'll see much better from him soon.
  22. He got caught out of position a few times against Rangers, but they're very strong down the right, every left back in the league will get a tough time from them. Other than that he's never stood out as being particularly good or bad. Certainly not to blame for either of the defeats we've suffered.
  23. Yeah, I have to agree, you'd have to see any trial period that doesn't end in a contract offer being unsuccessful. That's certainly the way the player would see it.
  24. Yeah, Rooney looking even more like a missed opportunity now. A real shame. You could have hoped that he'd give us another go if it didn't work out with Hearts. But it doesn't sound like he was treated particularly well when we decided against a deal for him first time round, so I'm sure he'll get a deal elsewhere easily enough.
