  1. So a different excuse every week then? What will it be next week? The dog ate Gary's teamsheets? Main problem is not the appointment of Teale. It's the way that the whole situation has been handled by the BOD for the last month. It has been a disaster. If they were going to appoint Teale it should have been done a month ago.
  2. Apologies that makes all the difference. 7 points from 9 games; that equates to approximately 29-30 points over the season. That kind of form will get you relegated most seasons in the SPL. A vast improvement indeed.
  3. I'm sure our new manager said earlier this week that there would just be the one signing, as I say. Last throw of the dice!....
  4. Glad to hear that you're happy with the situation. I think the way this situation has been handled has a calamity and an insult to the fans. The performance on Saturday, as well as the result, was dreadful.
  5. "The Board and hopefully the supporters will have noticed an improvement in performances during their short tenure" Really 6 points from 9 games? And then we sign a winger. Just what's needed to improve the team. It's about time the supporters of this club were treated with more respect.
  6. My comment wasn't about Teale's performance as manger. It was the fact that the club haven't done anything to sort the situation out. (From STV today "Teale hasn't been offered any clarity on his future with the Paisley club") This uncertainty cannot be a benefit to the team, or to trying to attract players. And I don't see how leaving all this up air can be of any benefit to the club, at what is the most critical point of the season.
  7. And in the meantime we will continue to stumble along until the close of the transfer window without resolving the manager issue? And consequently having little opportunity to add significantly to the squad. I have a lot of respect for what SG has acheived with the club, but at this moment I'm really struggling to see how this situation can be considered in the best interests of the club (which is the duty of the BOD). Certainly in the short term. Furthermore this situation has dragged on for nearly 2 months now, with absolutely zero information for the fans about plans or timescales for the manager; bringing in new players. As a season ticket holder I certainly didn't buy my ticket expecting to watch the team remaining mangerless for 1/3 of the season and fritter away their chances of survival by a complete lack of action during their only opportunity to reorganise and make improvements to the team. It seems to me this is a very poor way to treat your customers, and I'm not convinced that this would be tolerated in many other businesses. And if the recent attendance v. Dundee Utd is anything to go by, it's having a significant impact on the clubs customers too.
  8. I'm sure there is. I imagine with the prospect of promotion to La Liga there is the potential to make a lot of money in Girona, especially as they are currently heading towards administration and may be avialble at a relatively low price. As far as Saints are concerned, even when we exceed all expectations and win a national trophy, it doesn't actually make much money for the club. I think that strongly suggests that the potential to significantly increase income in the near future and make large amounts of money for the Pini's at Saints is limited. I expect that explains why these guys are currently in Spain and not Scotland.
  9. Question is...after managing to go seven games without a booking...will Goody manage to make it through 90 mins vs. Dundee Utd. on Wednesday without elbowing someone in the pus....
  10. I just can't see this deal going through. If you're very interested in buying a football club I imagine that the last thing you do is head off to another country and try to buy another one. The reports suggest that Pini is spending around 2 weeks in Girona going through the books with an auditor and having a series of meetings to organise their bid. They spent a single day in Paisley and by all accounts left without expressing much serious interest. If they were seriously interested in buying Saints, they would surely be spending the 2 weeks in Paisley not Girona. Looks to me like Saints are at best a back up plan. And if they are telling the BOD they are planning to put a serious offer on the table, the BOD are surely being strung along. Apart from anything else I don't suppose they have unlimited finance and if the Girona deal costs them an extra £1.5M they won't be able to finance a deal for Saints. Even if it was to go through, it hardly looks likely it will be done before the window shuts (as Pini is in Girona until the 29th). By which time Saints will have been without a manager for about 8 weeks (10 league games) during what is a critical part of the season. Nothing short of a disaster for the club; and not exactly a great way to treat the fans either.......
  11. Jamie Fullarton was sent off after about 30 minutes on his debut vs. Dumbarton I think.
  12. Not sure? Maybe you should start another thread about it? If you start a thread every time we win a game, at the current rate, you may have 3 or 4 running by the end of the season.
  13. Having read some of the articles regarding Pini & Girona, they sound quite plausible to me. (Despite Scott Burns opinion and them being dismissed on here.) Girona who have look to have a realistic chance of promotion to La Liga this season, would be a much better bet if you're looking to make money I'd imagine. Apparently they looked at Girona a while ago but were put by the fact they couldn't get complete control, but now have an agreement in place to get 51% of the shares. (There was some suggestion of them buying both Girona and Saints though)
  14. Can't say I really rated him highly when he played against us. However I would rate him higher than Ball/Marwood/Caldwell. The other names in Robert Grieve's list worry me more.............
  15. Not any real info in this statement, not sure why Graeme Redpath bothered to put this out. It's quite clear that the board didn't want to sell to them, for whatever reason. It does though bring into sharp focus that the Board have done nothing to replace Tommy Craig. This in my opinion is now doing serious harm to the club, they have now lost any advantage at all in sacking TC in advance of the window. The task of saving us from relegation is rapidly going from extremely hard to completely impossible.
  16. Agreed Agreed, sounds pretty dodgy. And given what is says in the article, David Thompson seems a strange choice as a manger. Does he have any senior coaching experience at all? Either way it needs sorted out one way or the other ASAP. All this dithering about, at the most crucial point of the season is really hurting the club.
  17. I'm not sure I understand all the ardent support for Teale getting the managers job. I've nothing against him. I get the point that he's a good player and has played at the top level and he may even have the makings of a great manager. However there are plenty of top flight players who tried their hand at management and failed. At the very least appointing Teale would be a gamble. Who ever gets the job, it will be an extremely tough one. Squad needs a change of direction as well as a complete overhaul and the team's sitting bottom of the league. A hard task for anyone, let alone someone who's been handed their first job in management. After deciding that appointing the assistant wasn't the way to go, it seems strange to consider the assistant's assistant? Especially when his contribution to date doesn't seem to have been much help in getting the team going in the right direction. I'm not convinced Teale is right for the job, and even less convinced that the job is right for Teale.
  18. Think he made it to 63. Next birthday on November 21...wonder what the odds are on him still being an SPL manager at the age of 64?
  19. And that is a bit worrying given that it's the first time we played a semi-decent team. Fingers crossed we can raise performance level for next week.
  20. And in other news...wheel invented..... Clutching at straws with this one, but be a slow news day month...... And Junior Mendes kicked off the World Cup in Brazil.......
  21. I see Darren has taken time out to refute your scandalous accusation that an employee of Sevco would behave inappropriately!! http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/rangers-signing-darren-mcgregor-ally-3683870 Apparently if you say "Sorry to hear about your Dad. How about a big pile of cash to sign for us?" that's perfectly acceptable. Amazing coincidence.
  22. Comment was tongue-in-cheek really, didn't really think you get any answers on that... At least not any that you'd be happy to pass on to us lot....
  23. Div, Maybe you should ask Brian Caldwell if the club really is going to be sold by the end of June? (And if that's the reason we're not signing any players?!!)
  24. This topic raises it's ugly head again....... From Black & White Army ‏@bawarmy Led to believe the club could be sold by the end of June. Many deadlines missed before though so don't hold your breath ! No idea who the buyer(s) is/are, but believe it's the same group who were previously reported as looking to buy 75% shareholding. Could this be the real reason we're not signing anyone until the end of June?................ (or are we buying the English contracts run until then story?)
