  1. I can't argue with that. Whilst still being raw as a manager he articulates well and seems to be making a decent fist of this transfer window so far given the restrictions he's operating with. We have to stop the manager merry-go-round at some point and for me this is as good a time as any to make that decision. Would love us to stay up with Jack but if the unthinkable, but likely, happens then I'm happy for Jack to grow with the team and rebuild for the future.
  2. Correct Drew. the only shunting that will strengthen us is shunting Irvine out the team. As for a contract extension, please no.
  3. My personal favourite overused word is "vow". It's another favourite with the tabloids and since the only time I read an article with "vow" in the headline I have never repeated the mistake. I couldn't give a fcuk what tosser vows what to fill column inches. It's boak inducing p!sh.
  4. Can't help thinking if Naismith moves on this month we then need 2 full backs. Admittedly Jason has had 2 poor games then after a recent resurgence but on song he is decent and gets forward a lot. Irvine offers nothing going forward, has a habit of falling over and is most often simply a liability who will cost us goals and points.
  5. We simply must get a right back and hold on to Jason for right back. Irvine is honking at left back and I very much doubt he'd be any better at right back.
  6. He wasn't very good. Thought he could produce the odd mazy run but end product and finishing poor. Was lucky to score with a few sclaffs last year. Unable to get into the worst Saints team in history says it all really. Good luck and goodbye Calum!
  7. Mmm. Tall, strong imposing ball winner who has 2 good feet and looks accomplished in the air. No place for that in our side..........................must start!!
  8. I would think Loy and Storie have to start. To have a nasty wee midfielder who can allegedly play a bit, and a proven striker at our disposal, and let's face it after Saturday you could drop all 11, it would be madness not to start them. Of course as long as they are, or are close to, fit enough. Not sure about Pal, maybe he could sit with his chums on the bench!
  9. Big Sutts has impressed me with his work rate and desire this year. Always knew he knew where the pokey was and given service he will do this for us with aplomb. However the aforementioned attributes have taken me (pleasantly) by surprise. Sutts is not the problem, in fact we are very lucky to have him in the championship and I believe he could do a job for any team at this level. I agree he could do with a foil in the shape of a younger, nippy partner, maybe he will get one. What we absolutely need to do though is stop gifting shambolic goals away left, right and centre. I've lost count of the clusterf**ks I have witnessed this season that have resulted in goal concessions and unfortunately it is a recurring theme. I am quietly confident that the 2 Kyle's backed up by Storie and Morgan could be quite a midfield at this level. For me McKenzie needs a good partner, Webster can do a job and Baird has potential but is rash quite often. Jury out on keeper although he seems improved under Ross and big Naisy is looking himself again. I don't know what to make of Irvine, he tries his heart out, not scared to get stuck in, but is there ability? Not convinced. So in my opinion an improved partner for McKenzie, an improvement at left back and a terrier type foil for Sutts could see us ok..................................
  10. A great all round effort. Gallagher looks a new man. Tremendous between the sticks. Awful dive apart Shankland looked sharp and was at the centre of a lot of incisive moves. McAlister was tremendous and is the ball carrying midfielder we've needed for ages. Also fills in for the improving Naismith when he bombs up the park and I think big Naismith had his best game of the season. Centre half's all good inc. Webster who was calm and effective when drawn upon. Morgan however man of the match for me. Goal sublime and his piss taking at the corner flag at the end worth the attendance money alone. We can stay up for sure. Also have to add Mark Stewart is an odious little chunt.
  11. 16/5 with bet 365. I've had 20 quid. Cost of my ticket I didn't spend! COYS
  12. Was close to my father in law. Played golf together. RIP Davie
  13. It's a tough one really. Langfield can be a very capable keeper, but his kicking is absolutely horrific, his decision making baffling and his brain farts are nothing short of catastrophic. From what I've seen of Gallagher he's just utterly hopeless all round. So I would actually stick with Langfield but try and get him to a shrink immediately and have him practise kick outs/throw outs all week. I'm afraid this unfortunate situation derives from Alex Rae securing the 2 most hopeless keepers in Scotland for this season.
  14. It's been coming. At least we'll be able to put an official time figure on the unbeaten run against them. We really are rancid. Still think we'll stay up with a January reshuffle but Jack needs some money or else we could be heading down and out.
  15. It doesn't work on my phone or tablet. Both android using chrome. Takes donkeys to load then when finally getting to forums refuses to load topics.
  16. Yeah totally. I wasn't particularly having a go as I can't blame him in a finite career. Was more alluding to the fact that neither other mentioned team is likely to offer enough more coin than us to swing it and that given his history with us I'd be very surprised to see him not choose us from the discussed teams.
  17. Sutton is and always was a mercenary. Done a job for us though. I do think however that neither Raith nor Ayr would substantially top an offer from us and the fact he was a success with us before should make a decision towards us a fairly straight forward one.
  18. Well said! I hope he kicks some arses and gets the squad unified and helps us kick on. I feel quite positive about this appointment. Couldn't care less about his past. Welcome to Paisley Alex. Wish you all the best.
  19. Well that fair cheered me up before work! Much prefer Prefab Sprout's song that references our new trialist in between discussing jumping frogs and hot dogs.....
  20. Yip. Hopefully we'll ping in the goals now and maxfli up the league.
  21. Yup, standard player drivel when the manager is under fire. He can hardly come out and see he is a balloon can he? However, if GT is in charge next season there will be a lot of unhappy campers in the support, me included. I prefer managers to be able to do things out of left field like manage people. Unfortunately in my opinion Gary is no leader of men and in no way inspirational. I also see his inability to speak properly as a definite hindrance to success. Perhaps I am doing him an injustice and it may just be that when he ordered his shiny new teeth he failed to order the correct size........
  22. On yesterday's evidence we may not need him. Do wish him a speedy recovery as he is a top player but it hasn't happened for the wee man this year. Fluke or not yesterday's team clicked and it all worked for us and I would not be tampering with the starting 11 for the next match!
