  1. "At this moment in time" is another of GT's favourites.
  2. Paisley VW centre at the bottom of the chain road. Used Jim for years, very reliable.
  3. I don't believe there would be enough Saints fans with the cash to commit to the ongoing funding of our club. Serious cash and long term tied in commitment required (IMO) if the fans will ever takeover the club.
  4. Luckily it didn't cost us any points being down to 10 men. It would have been a disgrace if we'd lost the game only to see the red card rescinded.
  5. I wonder if there's money involved for St Mirren to play this game?
  6. No, but if things don't improve you can have my seat in Greenhill Road.
  7. Must just have been dust collecting on the boots.
  8. Agree. He spat the dummy out a few times (I think with Naismith) There was also one point in the second half a move broke down with him in the box. He strolled back even though we were still in possession, meaning he was in an offside position. I didn't see the incident but my brother said he stuck the head on the Killie fellow. If he did, then he should be hammered by the club as He'll have let himself, the club and supporters down if he indeed struck the player.
  9. Put yourself in SG's shoes. He's invested a lot of money, blood sweat and tears. It's probably taken its toll on his finances, family life, his wife is (like any normal wife) thinking of retiring to a place in the sun....... and rightly so. If he decides to sell up to the highest bidder....... can you blame the man? 10000 hours was the best chance we as fans had of a fan ownership and it didn't happen. In my opinion Richard and co did a fantastic job in trying to drum up support (I was one of them) Now on the forum there are folks saying "let's try again" I don't think so. We need to take take the blinkers off if we want to go forward. It's a gamble yes, but SG and co have taken the club as far as they can and deserve to have their day in the sun.
  10. Also meant to add. Reportedly we have the youngest team and smallest (is that the correct word?) wage bill in the league. If I were an investor I'd be looking at the bigger picture. The names you mention above may be worth selling on (I'd only mention McLean and McGinn at this time) where as the likes of Motherwell, Killie and Dundee (as far as I'm aware don't have) Ross County have Roy McGreggor to fund them, but due to his line of business and falling oil prices, he can't sustain that. ICT rely heavily on loans, St Johnstone also seem to be spending more than they're bringing in at the gates. From these points I'd say St Mirren could well be well worth investing in. Just my opinion though.
  11. I agree with most of what you say. Saints have (allegedly) no debt, new stadium, training facilities (which are better than most in the division) so why not allow foreign investors in (namely the Argentinian chaps) Motherwell for instance are on the bones of their arse, so putting a business head on (despite league position) which option would you be inclined to look at? If they can stick another 500 to 1000 at each home game by investing in the team ( and I don't mean blowing budgets like Motherwell, Killie and Dundee have done) then they'll make a small profit and something to build on. Just my tuppence worth though.
  12. I wonder what TC thinks now after the way the Saints have played (despite losing two) in the last three games, compared to the performances under him? It also makes you wonder if he ever listened to his coaching staff? GT has came in (not knowing how long he'll be in the seat for) and made some brave decisions. He deserves great credit for that.
  13. Though I agree with what you say Div the bottom line is, there aren't fans out there with that kind of cash. 10.000 Hours (and I was one that signed up for it) tried and failed. My only doubt with 10.000 was how many fans would have maintained their monthly payments when the team were not performing (like now) if supporters choose to boycott games in protest, then the chances are they would cancel their direct debit, also out of protest. Look at Celtic prior to Fergus McCann. He was/is a business man and he took Celtic back to the top, made his money and walked off into the sunset. Now, I'm not saying any new investors will turn us in to potential league winners but we need that cash boost to improve the team, get the crowds back, winning games more often than we lose. Maybe after 5 years of progress then they may sell to the supporters, who are more likely to sign up to a winning team, than a losing team. I agree, the fans would be my preferred owners, but meantime I think we need funding from an outside source.
  14. Until we (the supporters) know what the intentions/plans are from the Argentinian chaps then everyone will have their opinion. If someone or a consortium makes an approach to buy the club then I'm all for listening to what they have to offer. To me SG and co have done a tremendous job and deserve a lot of credit. We all make mistakes in life and Tommy Craig was one of theirs (Hindsight and wonderful thing spring to mind) the club needs investment from somewhere, falling attendances of late don't help, but under recent circumstances (poor performances) that is understandable. If the potential buyers are willing to invest in the team then I'm all for it. Too much doom and gloom and negativity on here at the moment. TC gone, potential new buyers, we should be a bit more optimistic. But that's just my opinion.
  15. Ffs, I didn't even know about this. I assume it's being organised by the club? Poor show if it is, would have thought they would have contacted season ticket holders.
  16. Fellow Saints fan Graeme passed away last week under tragic circumstances. Graeme was present at most home games and used to sit at the back row of the south stand next to the camera box. Very nice guy that will be missed by many.
  17. pity I couldn't give this one two likes.
  18. What makes you think Hartley would have came to St Mirren?
  19. Bastards indeed chap. When your wife told me you were going to the game I took a day off work ☺️
