  1. Named after a Paisley character who has been fondly remembered long after he has left us. Will people remember you in such a way? Ta Ta Bella, now there is a name that is a blast from the past. Is it just me or is society devoid of such characters nowadays? I shall be in for a black coffee and a morning roll (or scone) toward the middle of the week. Looking forward to it and good luck with your venture. The High street is in need of independently run businesses like this that are not betting establishments or pound shops.

  3. Very poor response Mr Dickson. Citing one club to counter our friend Slash was a childish move. Your point was mute as Slash demonstrated wonderfully. This child like reply smacks of playground jealously. For someone with such a child like attitude toward my beloved club one must ask why you insist on spending time on this forum? Poor show Dickson, you can do better than that, poor show indeed.

  5. Who was the wee girly blonde locks that played for Ayr Utd and managed to get Barry Lavety and Paul Lambert sent off in a game down in Ayr in the 1990's before a Mr Chic Charnley walked onto the park, headbutted him, spat on him (I think) before being sent straight off and subsequently sacked from our club? The referee was a Joe Timmons, that much I do recall. I hated thon wee girly blonde locks fellow as well althougn not enough that I can remember his name
  6. Very true, very true indeed. That said a little bit of irrational hatred can be enjoyable. Player's who immediately spring to mind Peter Grant - moaning weasal faced little shite Scott Brown - moaning weasal faced little shite (the Miranda slap still makes me laugh) Kenny Miller - moaning little shite Ross Tokely - Career ending, thug like big shite Davie Hay - I just took a right dislike to him and I hated him being our manager Davie McPherson - Stupid hair do and loved time wasting Mark Hately - Over paid, stupid big white toothed moaning thug shite Andy Gray - Big bawheid that scored a header against us with his eyes shut and he was boring Dave Bowman - Ginger haired ugly thugshite Jim Bett - Big thug shite Davie Dodds - Ginger haired ugly shite and his ginger tache made me want to vomit Artur Boruc - Big holy moly bigot halfwit This list is by no means exhaustive
  7. I would have thought that the tribute act ugly sister would actually be better converting to baseball and going to the USA. Orange County anyone?
  8. May I take this opportunity to wish Celtic nation every failure and misfortune for the future. If any club deserves to drag itself through the many levels of the English pyramid system then I would hope that such a feat would be best achieved by the much deserving Darlington fc.
  9. I totally agree that over the past few days all things Paisley football are indeed looking brighter. Long may it continue, It was entirely fair for those who care deeply about our beloved club to question why the run of appalling form was allowed to continue for so long. I was left very disappointed by our defensive failings and whilst credit must go to the management team for sorting it out the legitimate question remains as to why it took so long. As I said in my previous post I wish our manager the very bust of luck and hope that for the sake of the quality of my life that he be successful. Dan the manger man has my best of wishes and I hope that he turns this corner and delivers a more vibrant and successful brand of football down Greenhill Road way, I really do. My confidence in him has been severely dented and I can attribute that mainly to an abject failure to play players in the best position and to stick with Mr Goodwin at centre half when Mr Mair was left sitting at home or being dragged round Ikea by his missus. This cost my beloved team dearly and I am left worried that such an act of stupidity was allowed to continue for so long. Dan the manager man may yet win back my confidence but it was not easily lost and it will not easily be regained. Is it not just typical of our team to suddenly hit a streak of form just before an international break?
  10. The childish nature of your post is disgusting, disgusting indeed. My mood is somewhat higher than it has been for weeks due to the fine result yesterday yet I find childish nonsense on this, our beloved forum. Have a wee look at yourself in the mirror and whilst looking yourself in the eye ask "why do I follow the football"? Brilliant result, brilliant performance and I feel brilliant. The fact still remains however that our result's and performances were woeful until Monday night and as a fan who has purchased a season ticket (actually two) I am entitled to wonder why it took to this week for performances to reach an acceptable level. I could not care less whom the manager of my beloved club happens to be (within reason) as long as club is performing in an acceptable manner. Dan the manager man had my confidence and then lost it, it will take some sustained improvement before my confidence returns. That does not mean I wish him to fail, indeed I wish him to be the most successful manager of all time, ever! Have a wee look at yourself. Fans were more than entitled to question the dross that was being served up to us. Indeed had the fans not questioned it then something would truly have been wrong in our town. Enjoy the win but please post with more maturity as it is neither big nor clever and personally I want my good mood to continue without having to read such childish dross.

  12. Thankfully 85% of forum user's are better educated in the game of football than you will ever be lest this forum be reduced to incomprehensible drivel. Your hatred of Marc from that post and previous post only serves to illuminate your presence as that of a common dunderheid. In my day I would assume you to be a drinker of the methylated spirit. What is these days that this drunk by the intellectually challenged...Buckfast is it? Your posting style reveals that you do not support my beloved team but rather waste your time pouring scorn upon it. Trench warfare would have weeded you out!
  13. I see the merits of playing Grainger on Saturday as after all we are returning to Daniel's former club and such an occasion often has the effect of spurring players on to perform at the peak of the footballing ability that evolutionary laws provided them with. However I thought young Kelly equipped himself well and he deserves to be picked on Saturday. Also It would appear that Mr Grainger may have had some recent injury woes so a break may prove more beneficial in the slightly longer term. It is the wish of I that Sean Kelly play on Saturday.
  14. You are probably correct. However had Gary Teale played against Aberdeen (other than the dying seconds) would Derek McInnes not have been forced to think about countering our Mr Teale? Gary Teale is far too good aplayer in far too rich a vein of form for our Dan the manager man not to play him. Conor Newton is a central midfielder and should be played in that position. As has been said above by another fine forum user, our team performs at its best when the players are just played in the most natural positions. I disagree with a point above that we had no width as young John McGinn did provide width on the left but I would have loved to have seen us also ask questions of Aberdeen (who after all were the away team) on the right and I firmly am of the opinion that Gary Teale is one of the best players in the SPFL to do that.
  15. FFS There is a speculation thread in the rumour mill section of this fine forum. Please post your speculative thoughts in the relevant speculation thread. Otherwise the forum will be swamped with random threads. Post wiser!
  16. Why anyone who has a knowledge of football above that of the level of a goldfish would say that is beyond me. Young Marc was not the cause of our defensive frailties, the out of position Mr Goodwin playing beside him was the problem. Young Marc has played very well under the circumstances. That said with Marc being injured on Monday I would not risk him for Saturday. Teale and young McGinn simply must play or I will feel the urge to approach Dan the soon to be ex manager man and whack him with the handle end of my hardwood walking stick.
  17. He may have sang it on top of the pops when Jimmy Saville was the presenter
  18. I hate to pour luke warm urine on the pretend chips being eaten by everyone here but we still only have two points and we did only get a draw at home to an SPL rival. The performance was much better than the drivel we have been made to endure of late but as it stands our team has still failed to deliver an acceptable points total. The problems have not disappeared by forum friends, we have only been given a glimpse of hope, only a glimpse.
  19. I think I may have heard a song about that. Something about children being the future?
  20. Would be a good post in the already running matchday thread, No need for this thread at all, none whatsoever, none indeed, absolutely none.
  21. No we really needed to win the three points tonight so I am aghast, aghast I say, that you think any player need to "be saved". I agree with our Lex that it was an extremely poor substitution as youg John McGinn was having a fine game. I was also flabberghasted, flabberghasted I say, that Gary Teale was relegated to the substitute bench. That said the performance from our back four was much improved and just serves to highlight Dan the soon to be ex manager man's idiocy in freezing Lee Mair out of the first team as he did.
  22. 1) That sounds a fair enough comment 2) Also a reasonable assertion 3) Completely in agreement 4) Not entirely in agreement. With Teale and Thommo the ability is in the squad but its a question of getting the best out of those players 5) Interesting assertion but I assume you do not have any source on that and you just made that up. Naughty naughty 6) That could easily happen. A new manager may actually play players in the correct position and may even try bringing back a certain Mr Mair or playing young Naismith but in any case a new manager may be able to improve our centre half shambles. Also I note that you insist on using phrases such as "you've got a poor team". You do not need to do that as we all know you harbour deep feelings for our club so feel free to be more inclusive regarding yourself. In future I expect to see "our team" and "our manager" being the sort of reteric coming from your forum account.
  23. Can he win a league cup (check) Can he out perform Dan the manager man's team in the league (check) Will press conferences be more interesting than the sleepfests served up by Dan the manager man (check) In the spirit of speculation I speculate that Mr Shiels has proven himself a success with less resources than even Mr Gilmour will provide and as such would be a very good manager.
  24. Who will be our new manager then? It is going to happen and my guess is that will be on Tuesday morning after Aberdeen take a turn at exposing our appalling defensive frailties and lack of tactics. My bowels tell me that Paul Hartley could well be the new man. My heart wants Kenny Shiels (as I have mentioned repeatedly to anyone that will listen/read). So my speculation is that Paul Hartley will be the new manager man.
  25. The Japs will not help us.....God knows I killed enough of the wee baisturts in late 1943!
