I believe it's 100k that what was briefed at the meeting , 80k from Gordon and 20k from SMISA .
Money isn't actually being taken from DD's until July , so this deposit would be paid before then
They can't pay it until they know this is going to be viable proposal, ie they need the fans initial commitment

I can understand people having some reservations.
However for me this is the only game in town. There are no other choices. The current Board want out and stagnation has set in over the last six years or so. We either sign up for change or let the status quo prevail. The people who want to take the risk are all St Mirren fans and not the many fly-by-night owners that Scottish football is so familiar with. Let's make the best of what is in front of us.

I'm absolutely nothing to do with this bid other than being a signed up member. Nobody at SMiSA asked me to run the poll, I was just curious to know how many were undecided and how many were going to sign up but haven't yet.
I think after a week having reached a third of the target is really good going. Only thing really missing for me is more offline press coverage and a big public meeting at the stadium, advertised in the press and online.
We've now got two rooms that could take it. Have people there armed with laptops and allow fans to sign up there and then.
I'm still 100% confident that the guys will hit the target, probably needs the above plus an actual deadline date to be announced to push some of the maybes into being members.

I think that's entirely fair mate.
Fan ownership isn't going to deliver a huge new transfer budget to the manager, which seems to be the pipe dream of some of the support.
What it will hopefully do is to ensure there is some new energy, new ideas and new drive and that this can help improve things for us on and off the park. With some imagination the club should be able to generate more revenue and that should in turn help the playing budget.
Not wasting money on dud signings and dud managers will also help mind you.
The current board are the most successful St.Mirren board in my lifetime, but by their own admission they are tired and they want out.
I can't see any better alternative than the fans owning it, and 10 years is a timetable long enough for us to work out all the finer details of how it will work.
Meantime we a successful St.Mirren minded, young(ish!) business man at the helm with a fan rep on the board.
It's a no brainer for me.

A complete nonsense that Douglas McNeil refusing to let George Adam on radio when he is openly offering... Douglas says he only wants Gordon in yet George is SMISA chairman so is very relevant .

Douglas confirmed on Twitter that George can't appear on sport-sound due to election guidelines given his role as an MSP, anybody know who was the guy who was chairing the meeting prior to George and Gordon speaking , would they be willing to go on radio ?

Anther attendee at the meeting has reminded me that the payment would be 1st July and the sum of £100k would take the club of market so to speak

With some posters coming on asking spurious questions, giving hypothetical scenarios, trying to muddy the waters and continually talking up the mystery 'other two' bids you would perhaps be forgiven for thinking they are on a Smisa thread with the intent to destabilise the bid???

Seems the small meeting went very well last night with a few really enthusiastic posts on Facebook , I think more public meetings is the key as when people here George and Gordon speak they can't help but be impressed by them .
Hopefully several more planned , how about a large one at the stadium ??

The board have told SMISA that if they can show they have a legitimate model ie 1000 sign ups that they are the the preferred bidder so it's up to us the fans to make that happen ! I for one don't want someone to walk in who doesn't necessarily have the best interests of the club at heart, then we could end up 2 years down the line having to save the club !

Excellent idea. How about several members with "SMISA" tshirts and flyers mingling amongst the away support on Saturday chatting and getting the messages across, hopefully with the supporters clubs reps their tonight's these can also be circulated on the coaches this Saturday
