It seems odd to continually use the financial failings of the UK run economy as a reason to stay in the UK.
Stuart Dickson
What strikes me as odd is for people to still be arguing for Yes when the country has shown it wouldn't have been financially viable in an oil downturn, where the leader has conceded they hadn't managed a credible plan for currency and when the man who wrote the White Paper has confirmed it was all a load of flaccid shite. The only case for a Yes vote these days is that you hate the English so much you'd willingly self harm and damage your own people just so you can feel as though you aren't attached to then anymore. salmonbuddie
No-one hates the English. England perhaps, but not the English. As the guy who died 2000 years or so ago said, love the sinner, hate the sin. But that's probably far too subtle a distinction for you. RickMcD
Is it the valleys and the hills or their bonny blooming rose? What's not to like? Hatred has always been a factor in the Scottish independence movement.

Hatred has always been a factor in the Scottish independence movement. That'll be why Scotland and England supporters are so nasty to each other, then, it's only independence minded folk who support Scotland. foxbar_bud
Condescending drivel. That's rich from someone whos first post in this topic was to infer that anyone that voted no, 'shat it'
RickMcD
Could you run that by me again? I've often had good natured banter with England fans- I still do over here- but I can't for the life of me see where even knuckle-- dragging England fans should enter the Scottish independence argument. Rangers and Celtic ain't going south.
Vambo57
The latter bit is called banter between mates! Glad that yet again you proved yourself wrong. Oooo the Banter!

Let's be clear about this - are you really claiming that the Scottish Nationalist movement was borne from a hatred of a large plot of land to the south of us and not a hatred of the people who happen to live there? Rangers and Celtic ain't going south. It's no different to St Mirren/Morton or Glasgow/Edinburgh, Rick, there's a hatred of the institution but not a hatred of their supporters en masse. I have good natured banter with them, too, and love that they just don't get us supporting whoever's playing them. At anything...

Stuart Dickson
Told you it was too subtle... England is the plot of land isn't it? So what exactly do you hate about it? It's not subtle at all. England isn't an institution, it's a country.

Stuart Dickson
Translation: I can't answer cos I'm clueless #thichasfcuk This "too subtle for you" shite is utter nonsense. England is not an "institution" under any definition, it's a nation and to dislike a nation is clear xenophobia. This forum bans sectarian and racist abuse but sadly it's become a home for xenophobic nationalists who want to spread their anti-English bile. Shame really.... Stuart Dickson
What about banning folk that hate babies enough to want them to die? Or hate children enough to want them to go uneducated? Or ... Yep I'd ban SNP voters for that too. They voted this shower in. The state of the Scottish NHS and Scottish education lies squarely on their / your shoulders
