If the phlebotomy department has been centralised in one hospital, Wishaw General, why is there any need to transport blood samples from one hospital to another? Are you sure that it is not the pathology department that has been centralised?

Here is an extract from NHS Lanarkshire website:- "The innovative redesign and reconfiguration has led to the creation of a main blood sciences laboratory at Wishaw with supporting core labs at Hairmyres and Monklands." This reads to me as if  there are still laboratory services present on all 3 sites.

Im afraid you are correct and I am wrong. It was Microbiology.

So says British Transport Police Officers who have slammed her decision to merge British Transport Police north of the border into Police Scotland.

http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/708696/Transport-cops-Sturgeon-merger-Police-Scotland

And then in other police news this story has broken. A pile of taxpayers money wasted on this latest Scottish Government IT Shambles

http://stv.tv/news/politics/1366423-probe-after-police-scotland-cancels-60m-it-contract/

Those disgusted at the way our country is being policed are urged to have a look at this petition. Police Scotland has never and will never deliver the savings the SNP claimed. It's a failed project. Time to scrap it.

https://www.change.org/p/nicola-sturgeon-first-minister-of-scotland-demolish-police-scotland-and-return-scotland-s-9-police-forces/c/504557735

You do realise the BTP are a basket case "force" with a comparatively massive budget (compared to police Scotland) that are pretty much despised by the other policing organisations ? Of course their senior officers with their superiority complex will be up in arms at being brought into line with the rest of the country's policing. As for the IT story, do keep up that broke months ago, happens week in week out in both public and private sectors. IT companies promise the earth but frequently can't deliver. We have a mantra when evaluating IT tenders and that is "for comply read lie" as invariably every company tendering for an IT contract will respond "comply" to every requirement despite the fact that the vast majority of packages being sold (probably all when it comes to big public sector systems like this) are a one size fits all solution. Having a stand alone police force primarily for railways was / is lunacy and should have been incorporated many years ago.

Some have short memories, wasn't it Theresa May herself that pulled the  rug from under the UK Border Agencies (Westminster Government's) unfit border security system while she was Home Secretary ( might have been her predecessor but that part is immaterial). That made £60m look like loose change but I'm sure you would have started a thread of mock outrage at the time !

Its good to see the usual Natsi defence shutting up shop. Random abuse and defamation of the critic of the party, followed by an impassioned defence that wasting £60m is just fine and nothing to worry about.

Thank f**k Scotland has learned it's lesson and will never trust these shysters with our country.

It's actually just that nobody believes a word you say, Patient Assassin.

Apparently you are also lucky no-one believes a word you say too - at least thats what my solicitor said this afternoon. I did argue that Coward clearly did and therefore we should have a case, but she said he was clearly the town idiot.

I am not sure what is more tragic: the idea of you actually hiring a lawyer or you pretending you have hired a lawyer.

Yeah, its a bit rich to spit your dummy out, threaten legal action over being called names and then all of a sudden be up for a bit of banter. Away and play on your own.

Really? This reminds me of some of the playground nonsense I haven't seen since primary school. You've stalked all around a number of threads trying to pick someone elses fight, then having finally got a response from me you're now spitting the dummy out and telling me to go play on my own.

You make a fool of yourself daily so much so I often end the day pitying you.

Its good to see the BritNat fascist ignoring the fact that an unelected Prime Minister who has no mandate over this country is prepared to spunk away billions on nuclear weapons whilst whining about so-called misspending of 60m. And whines about personal abuse whilst labelling SNP supporters as Natsis.

The fat heretic doesnt do irony. Oh and has ignored the earlier revelation of a jobs and investment bonanza on scrapping air passenger duty

Proof that fatty cant see beyond the hatred of his own country to take that on board

Sorry what? I seem to remember the Conservative Party winning the last General Election with a majority. How exactly does Theresa May not have a mandate?

I'm going through a divorce, you fanny. Ofcourse I have a lawyer.

If utter f**kwittery is grounds for divorce, I have to suggest that you are wasting money if instructing a solicitor to represent you against such a charge.

Phlebotomy. Microbiology. Yep. I can see where you could have misheard that manager who took time to engage with you and pour his heart out.

Good listener? Or could it be that the lobotomy affected your hearing?

Regardless, it's yet another failed merger that hasn't had any cost saving and which has damaged service.

Typical StuDism. Make an ass of yourself then, "Sweep it under the carpet. Move along. Nothing to see here"!

Not at all. I got the wrong department but the whole point is still valid. It's an SNP led merger in one of the devolved public services that was supposed to save money, that isn't and which has instead damaged performance and patient care.

Over the last few days I've heard a number of stories ranging from the New Victoria Hospital not having a single doctor on cover through the night, to proposals to have one orthopedic specialist cover 3 hospitals through the night.

The Scottish NHS is crashing badly and it shouldn't be swept under the carpet just because I've confused Phlebotomy with Microbiology even though I know and have seen that Natsi tactic many a time.

How can your point be valid when your point was accentuated by the fact that a stated department was remote to the hospital when it was not?

You must spend a lot of time snooping to hear all these "stories" or perhaps fairytales would be more apt.
