Admittedly Jason has had 2 poor games then after a recent resurgence but on song he is decent and gets forward a lot. Irvine offers nothing going forward, has a habit of falling over and is most often simply a liability who will cost us goals and points. Massive bug bear of mine playing a right footed player at left back and vice versa. All successful teams have a full back that can bomb down the wing, receive a ball and deliver it into box without breaking stride. Irvine, doesn't bomb forward but when he does, he has to cut inside and play a back or square pass. It wouldn't be so bad if a right footed left back could defend but Irvine can't even do that. Full backs so important to attacking play. Defences can just set themselves up to be solid through the middle when we are moving forward on the left as the ball just gets shuttled into the middle of the park every time. Haven't seen anything on the official site of their social media. While I wasn't a fan of Naismith defensively it was good to see him get his form and fitness back after Ross came in and give us something going forward and become one of our in form players. Would rather have hung on to him until the summer given the injury record of MacKenzie and Gordon and Webster this season. I think we need 2 full backs in if Stewart has left.
