The opening ceremony contained both Illuminati & Satanic symbols, all we need now is aliens to beam down during the trophy presentation. Apparently it wasn't the Real Shakira - good name for a team though!
-
@faraway saint No, you were right about the Belfast rioters, they were mainly from the Unionist side altho there was some co-operation from Republicans. ********************* On the X-Box warriors we seem to be training them young. Go Pikachu!

Fairy Nuff! ************************* In other news I see the meeja are frothing over the Benefits/Defence spending "battle", shirley a pejorative term? Plenty retired military types (hardly a neutral audience) telling us why we should put our money into the Military/Industrial Alliance the very definition of Grift. Obviously they haven't been watching the current wars. The next war will be won by our X-Box warriors - the real keyboard warriors.

KO - 20:07 HT - 20:55 2nd Half - 21:12 Final Whistle - 22:04 My memory is 15 minute H/Ts started during the 82 WC. ⏱️ Back in the day the game comprised 90 mins, a 10 min H/T and a minimal amount of Injury Time - games were generally over by 4:45 and you'd be back in the pub by 5 o'clock. Lucky the game was settled after Mexico scored their second.

Well it all starts today - 48 teams (sheesh) and I reckon we'll all have similar opinions on the 8 to make the QFs. Argentina Brazil England France Germany Holland Portugal Spain I'm going for 7/8 of these teams plus a random diddy team like Morocco - what a palaver.

Re: the rioting in Belfast over the last coupla nights - do Republicans & Unionists riot together or separately against the furriners? Just wondering. 🥱

I'd rather go with a first-time manager than Marvin Bartley who's biggest success must be beating us in April. FFS - If we'd appointed MB it would have been the mother of all meltdowns.

The club's statement was very carefully worded, they have decided to go down the General Manager/First Team Coach route which seems sensible as players contracts are much more complicated these days. The emphasis on developing young players is a strategy with risks - the Bottom6 is relatively high level for young players to be introduced successfully IMO. You can't ignore cost was a factor in choosing McLeish but it's more hopeful to think of him as the continuity candidate, i.e. someone who knows more about the club than an outside appointment, risky - sure but is there any other kind?. Three years might seem generous but I presume there are release clauses within the deal. The only things left to say are good luck Craig and COYS!

Mmmmmmh - Jammy Langfield our new set-piece coach!

Whodathunk our Tom-meh's plan was less than sincere?

Are all the companies selling "fitba metrics" selling the same or similar software and will teams selected this way become generic & predictable? If so, bucking the trend where you sorta know other teams plans could work, or maybe not! **************************** In 10 years we might be watching Real Metrics Analysis vs KWA Analytics.

Tough season coming up - new manager, plenty of "churn" in the squad and a difficult division this season. As usual we'll in the bottom half in terms of budget (personal opinion) with Dundee, Falkirk, Killie & the Fakes, Motherwell have done well (sic) in the transfer market in recent seasons and will likely have a bigger budget than us as will Dundee Utd. As for the rest.... No obviously weaker teams like County or Livi, anyway as the Chinese say "May you live in interesting times". I'd settle for 10th place right here, right now.

This summer's Steven Pressley appointment.

1. Let's not pretend we're any different in this regard. 2. We were talking about passing on wealth between generations and the principle of Inheritance Tax dating back to Victorian times is a fact, as for the bit in bold that's a deliberate misinterpretation of what I actually said - and two can play that game. 3. Pointless question - it's covered in Point 2. 4. Unless you're advocating living in a gated community helping the "many" is the same as helping yourself - as I've already said. 5. I've no problem with people working hard and making a bit of money but as I've said countless times now nobody does it on their own these days. 6. You're coming across as a selfish "I'm all right Jack" character which is even sadder. ******************** We seem to have reached the "going round in circles" stage of the discussion so unless you come up with something new I'm out.

We were talking about how wealth is passed on between generations and as I mentioned the principle that it should be taxed is well established. No going off at a tangent from me, Nope, only a fool would make that interpretation of what I posted - scratches chin. This thread and the selfish attitudes expressed, often by you, is depressing. ******************************* Do you have any answer to my assertion that progressive taxation benefits the "many" in the long run other than your customary deference to your betters?
