I agree. I think we were a bit carried away and complacent. That resulted in carelessness .Some of our passing was dreadful and when the pass did reach its recipient the control of the ball was poor. I exclude Richard Tait from the poor control comment but not Main and Ayunga.
Just as an aside listening to the radio on the way back Michael Stewart (one of my least favourite people ) seemed to be sneering at us . I don't think he has ever rated us. Shelley Kerr was not dissimilar. She was probably still smarting from the Rangers score. I assume neither were at the game but seem to be able to talk with great authority about it . Perhaps I'm just imagining their dislike for us and it's me smarting from a score I didn't like .

So, down to earth with a bit of a bump after yesterday. Perhaps we got slightly carried away with our three wins in a row. Yes, we played some nice stuff but it resulted in two 1-0 wins and three goals against Dundee United at their lowest point in some years. Best thing about the three games was the strong defence and the clean sheets. For me, that's the most worrying aspect of yesterday's game.
SR MUST have them working on defence this week.
One plus point from yesterday - despite losing 3 goals and scoring zero, we retained our place in the top six.
So, on to Tynecastle. Was yesterday just a blip or are we returning to previous poor form? I guess we'll find out next Sunday. One glimmer of optimism. Hearts seem to have hit a sticky patch - out of the League Cup and beaten yesterday - so maybe not as strong as we thought.
    AS always..... COYS!

I think it will be on Sunday 18th at 12 noon as they are showing an EPL game on Saturday lunchtime. Would rather it wasn't moved at all so I live in hope. If it is moved it is very short notice. Perhaps they don't realise people have other things going on in their life and need to plan . On second thoughts they just don't care.

Hope not. I'm the same but I'm trying to just concentrate on us. Not easy

I was moaning that Livingston and Motherwell won today as I see them as real rivals at the bottom of the league . This must stop. Our results are the most important. We can't rely on other teams losing . If we are good enough we will stay up . From now on I will try to concentrate on our results only. Don't know if I'll last the season on that basis but I really want to.

My concern with fan ownership was that the heart would rule rather than the head which would be potentially disastrous. My view is unchanged.

As usual the club hasn't thought through things . Giving the old firm just one end was always going to result in infiltration. That's why I voted against it . There will be very few extra St. Mirren fans in attendance due to this decision and we'll lose a stack of money just because we are very principled. I had hoped the irrational stuff would go out of the window when Fitzpatrick left but clearly not. At least we can hold our heads up high in the championship.

Not seen many middle aged men with them but quite a number well into their twenties who should be old enough to act as an adult

Oldfellow got a reaction from Rascal in Redundancies at the Academy
Is the academy all it's cracked up to be? A few years ago at a shareholders AGM I asked how the value of the academy was measured. I couldn't get a straight answer. I would suggest that one measurement would be cost of running it against what we get in for transfers. I don't know what those figures are but suspect  they won't be encouraging. The only other measure could be feeding players into the first team on a long term basis. Again I'm not sure that looks particularly good either. People seem to be obsessed by giving youngsters their chance and that all will be well if we do that but in reality very few make the first team grade. In short it's nice that we have an academy but does it produce the goods? I have an open mind but I suspect it doesn't produce what is required. Hope I'm wrong.

The wee Ned's in black and balaclavas we're out in force again today as were their equally embarrassing Motherwell counterparts . There is also a smattering of what looks like adults in amongst them at least in a physical rather than mental sense.
The club need to stop pandering to this mob. It's reminding me  too much of the seventies problems then the casuals. W7  and W6 should be available for away support just like when the ground opened. We've plenty space for our home support, it might break this lot up and bring in more money without the problem of having the old firm behind both goals.
I fear things are going to get a lot worse which really saddens me as  I thought these times were behind us.
