    An emergency would be

Oaksoft & Stuart Dickson agreeing on something & Shull choking on his coco pops.
I am not talking coughing & spluttering at the shock, i mean obstructed airway, becoming cyanosed & needing abdominal thrusts (formerly known as the heimlich manoeuvre) to avert a respiratory arrest & death.
    That fella, is an emergency.

Postponing a game of football is not an emergency.

    You're right. I wouldn't give a f**k.
Put a dress on a pig, it's still a pig.

Postponing a football match by any stretch of imagination is not an emergency. You can bump your gums & think differently.

St Mirren's USH that has been broke for sometime is not an unexpected or dangerous situation.

All that would happen is the game gets played on a different date. Big deal! but you seem to think it would be armageddon. Are you Stewart Gilmour in disguise? [emoji16]

That though is the attitude that facilitates gross mismanagement of finances of community groups. Unless you know who they are and how decisions are taken you can't possibly conclude that your money is being spent wisely. There's enough history of community groups misappropriating cash to suggest you should care.

Note: I am absolutely not accusing anyone involved in SMISA of mismanaging finances. Transparency/clarity is in everyone's interests.

Peter, as you're making it a purpose of yours as a SMISA board member to see communication improved, perhaps, you can conclude the debate by clarifying how many members make up the SMISA board and who they are? Would be much appreciated. Thanks
Since I entered the debate a few days or so ago, I have thought, I would genuinely like to know who I am entrusting my monthly subscription to. I don't need to know who the cleaner is or the other guy who can do sums, I don't even have to know who the community heel dragger is nor do I need to know which guy props up Ralston but what I would like to know is, Who I am entrusting £1440 of my money to (there'll be no petulant threats of cancelling memberships/subs or not buying season tickets etc) but it now interests me on who makes up the SMISA committee/board.
    Thanks very much.

& it doesn't list 7 of them (I think) as being aboard member or director of SMISA.
The fact he is listed in the "Who we are" section suggests otherwise. If I was a newbie, looking to join SMISA, I'd see his photo and read the spiel that says
    and think he is.
That, to me, interprets SMISA Board Member and I suspect many others would see it the same way. Like 7 of the other 10, there isn't a "committee title" like Chairman, Secretary or Treasurer assigned to any to distinguish what their role is but it looks from here that David Nicol is one of 11 men on the SMISA board.
As I said previously, I couldn't give a monkeys stuff who is and who isn't as long as they are acting in the best interests of the SMISA membership and ultimately, St Mirren Football Club. My expectations remain the same, I expect there to be structure, honesty & transparency and compliance with the constitution.

Glad you enjoyed your day but it's quite a contrast to what I experienced a few years ago in the very same stadium.
I've been in the away end when Everton visited Old Trafford. My Scouse mates described it as the most hostile atmosphere they've ever encountered. I agree.
We arrived by train from Liverpool, the train station was like a war zone with battered Man U & Everton fans all over the place.
We were sat next to the divide and it was quite unnerving have the Man U fans on the other side of it, not watch the football but abuse & threaten the Everton fans from the 1st minute to the last and that was just the women (I wish that last bit was the joke but it isn't).
Living in England, I've been to many matches, greatest atmosphere was the Everton v Liverpool cup semi final a couple of years ago and I've been to FA Cup finals too (Man U v Everton in 1995 and more recently, Chelsea v Portsmouth), been to Highbury, Stamford Bridge, White Hart Lane, The Valley, Boleyn, London Stadium and The Emirates. None of them compare to going to watch St Mirren. The quality of football in Scotland is hugely inferior in comparison to the Premier league but watching another team that is not your own, is hugely inferior too.
Each to their own I suppose Stuart but I would give up every single other match available to go watch St Mirren (regardless of what Division they are in)
Jermain Defoe to West Ham in the transfer window looks a good bet.

    "Who we are" lists
David Nicol, George Adam, John White, Jim Cumming, Colin Orr, Peter Black, Tony Dorris, Tony Black, Barry Mitchell, Jim Crawford & Alan Quinn which on my abacus counts 11.
I am most definitely "not in the know" as I have lived out of Scotland for just gone 30 years and my participation is that I pay my money and trust the elected SMISA board members to act in the best interests of SMISA for it's members.
The SMISA website at best, is a bit misleading as I automatically assumed that since there are 11 men listed then these are the elected SMISA board. I expect there are a quite a few of SMISA's 1300+ members that would conclude the same.
From his posts in recent weeks, I have also thought that Kenny Morrison was now a member of the SMISA board as he appears to be responding on behalf of SMISA and not someone who was just invited to attend meetings and maybe be asked for his opinion on some things. I have no problem if he is or if he isn't, nor if SMISA want to have a board of 8 or is it 10, maybe it's 12 or 13, ach, they can have as many as they like for all I care but what I do care about is accuracy. I want to be able to decipher the information being put out there quite easily and not have to be relying on another row on BAWA to determine the facts of 10, 11 or 12 or whatever.
I want to know the people that I am entrusting £1440 (over 10 years) of my money, will provide me with accurate information. There is nothing (as far as I can see but please point it out to me if I am missing it) on the list of "who we are" that suggests 1 of those listed is not on the SMISA Board.
Transparency (4.4) !! seen that bandied about a lot recently. Accuracy, Honesty and Transparency. That is what I expect of an organisation that I am essentially gifting £1440 to. It is not transparently obvious which 10 (as you state) of the 11 men listed are the SMISA board members.
