As I have said, how great it would be if every player worked out to be a revelation. Not the way it works. OD hasn’t worked out & will likely be moved on. CB & EE were both parts of the senior squad assembled in the summer, that’s from the team squad, if you think it’s wrong, prove it. Squads get re-evaluated and I now feel they’d benefit from being moved on. That’s based on now, not then so not a U-turn. No luck.

Jack Ross has worked with Magennis before. Magennis is the next player expected to depart from our club for a fee (Hladky is the other possibility but we all know he’s free in the summer too). Hibs are exactly the sort of club we expect Magennis to move on to.
I don’t see how asking what the chances of this move are is trolling. If LPM had claimed he had a source suggesting this move was on the cards, or if LPM was claiming this move is definitely going to happen, then by all means he would be trolling. If he had suggested a lower club like Partick Thistle or a bigger club like Everton were in for him, he’d be trolling. But he didn’t, he just asked for thoughts on a realistic and possible move.
While true, this entire thread has been down to “mights” and “shoulds” considering the only out so far has been a random youth we know little about.

When GM was appointed in October 2018 it GLS said it was because we had learned from the "Summer of Stubbs" and that GM was here to provide continuity, GM confirmed that the main part of his job was transfers, the continuity was clearly not there after OK left last summer - recruitment stalled & didn't really resume until about a month after JGs appointment where a different strategy of signing players on longer term contracts emerged - that GMS role seems to have been redefined from the time of his appointment only enhances my argument.

GLS also made reference to the role not being “defined” since then we have two interviews from Gus highlighting the role is based on recruitment in advance of transfer windows, “it’s a supportive role, whatever the manager wants really” and a Q&A session saying his role will largely be the identifying and initial scouting of players before it filters through to Tony and the manager.
No where in the interview following his recruitment does it say his role was “transfers” that is a complete fabrication. It’s not in the article. The constant presence was in the “football department”, again absolutely no mention of recruitment from GLS. This is another fabrication. The exact quote is "We want to have someone within the football department who will be a constant presence," he told his club website.” This is exactly the role Gus took on between managerial changes. He took training for the squad, it doesn’t get anymore “football department” than that.
Gus was also appointed in September 2018, if you can’t even get basic information right like his appointment or job title, why on earth should anyone believe the rest of the baseless tripe?
But feel free to challenge. Where did Gus say his job was the actual transfers of players? Where did GLS say his role was the continuation of recruitment? You’ve been caught out not only twisting content but claiming content that doesn’t exist.

Chief Scout is not how GMs role was defined at the time of his appointment - his redefined role seems to me to be nice work if you can get it.

No I haven’t, first of all I said they were members of out senior squad, I never used the word “key” you have directly quoted me, you are wrong. Second I haven’t made any such U turn, I have stated the squad will have been re-evaluated and my belief is now they’d benefit from being loaned. That is completely irrelevant to the status after the summer window. Do you not think things change in football?
EE - Injured all of the time? Bottom line - a development player who got no game time in 5 months. Incorrect
CB - Plenty of players ahead of him in his position so one 2 min time wasting appearance as a substitutes ie a development player. 22 man squad, not everyone will play, same as any team. Still part of our senior squad assembled in the summer.
OD - Panic buy for the LC that we're trying to get rid of who made one 5 min appearance after JGs considered signings arrived and clearly out of the first team picture by the time I made my original post on the subject at the start of November. Incorrect, time on trial and standard of opponent debunks this. You can show nowhere to back it up

None of these guys were in the first team picture when I made my original post in November and couldn't even get any game time in December when the squad almost buckled and as I predicted are now even further away from the first team as it increases in size - I've said being GLSs vigilante prevents you from posting objectively on the subject.

Never claimed they were, the first team is the first choice 11 in my view. They were part of our senior squad of 22, not all 22 can be first team players, this is very basic stuff.
Squad size - My point was always that it was too small (it'll almost certainly be bigger by the end of the window) and most arrived too late, leaving us in the Chairman's words "behind the curve" and what else can that mean but a failure by our TD to learn lessons and provide continuity in signings last summer? JGs arrival seems to have led to a change in our signing strategy with a trend towards signing players on longer contracts. Perhaps a more relevant question is whether GM provides an essential role in the current set-up.

Being “behind” does not mean failure. It can mean… Behind where we want to be. Again, should Liverpool be giving back the CL trophy because they were “behind” to Barca at one point? Surely the only outcome based on your take is they “failed” to win the Champions League?

In two months of arguing you've proved nothing  we're just two idiots paraphrasing the same arguments and providing a degree of amusement for other forumsters, my point as ever is that GMs failed in his role as defined at the time of his appointment and that no amount of post-hoc re-evaluation of said role changes that - he was hired for the role of Technical Director not Chief Scout.

They have the crowds and the match officials behind them to make up the lack of quality.
