I think everyone that has raised "what ifs" has stated that they don't know.  There is no defending going on because no-one on here knows what went on.

As for the last part, if there is a criminal trial and they are found not guilty, will you still think that the civil trial verdict is "balanced and sound"?  If so, will you then think that the criminal trial verdict is wrong - you know, have your own opinion?

You've hit the nail on the head mate. No one except the three in the room know what certainly happened and there is NO real evidence.  I feel that all three have suffered but I don't know who, if any, lied. It really could be the case that all honestly think their telling the truth. Their version of reality.

I didn't think my post was that difficult to understand.
Needlessly abrasive? Pfffft. When you read the same old shite from the same posters every year..........................

    Boo fucking hoo!
Who gives a flying f**k about fans of a club a few tiers below us having a well deserved laugh? Were they laughing when we achieved top six last season?
So we were shite last night, just like we were at the start of last season, and no doubt will be too at some point during this season. It's part and parcel of supporting a club like ours.
They are way more good things happening at this club just now than bad.

I thought the energy and urgency of the front players improved with the addition of the subs, especially jamieson and Grieve.  The goal was taken well considering that Olusanya was like a coo wi' a gun up to that point
Positioning and movement were our problems, the midfield didn't cover themselves in glory and just passed into space for the first hour and that wasn't helped by the fact that none of the forwards were working hard enough to shake their markers or link up with each other.
Grieve did well, but it's a worry that it took him to make our front line look organised or capable.
There is no excuse for us not winning the physical battle early on, they competed man-to-man with us right up until around 50 minutes.  After that it was the subs and fitness that saved us

There is no chance that either would be able to receive a fair trial, I hope that it could happen, but try finding a jury that would not already have an opinion on this case

After travelling 600 miles to watch the Saints Jersey you deserved that celebration,

It's 11 against 11 and the biggest game of the season for the Cowdenbeath players and they are up for it, these games are never easy for any team

That was a strange old night. We huffed and puffed and lacked quality again, against a very poor Cowdenbeath side. Similar performance to the Montrose game. To be fair, their young keeper was superb tonight and made 3 or 4 brilliant saves.
We were very lucky not concede a pen in the first half and Hemming was lucky to see his blocked kick not end up in the net. Jamieson was one of the few saints players that looked like making something happen and Cowdenbeath struggled with him and Olusanya running at them.
    Dunne off injured again.
I liked the look of Nachmani and could see him developing into a really good signing for us. He’ll be ahead of Greive in the pecking order. Still not convinced with  Mandron but early days.
A wee word for Zach Hemming tonight. Other than his charged down clearance, he played well. I saw him going over to greet his partner and baby at full-time. He looked relieved like the rest of us with the late win and his wee kid had a mini  saints top on. It’s not his fault that he’s not Carson (who we need to punt soon for a fee-can’t see him playing for us again and we need to move on). Hopefully Zach’s confidence and performances continue to build under the guidance of Langfield, like Carson’s did for us.
One minute away from going out the cup and a pretty poor performance, but we still found a way. Maybe our name is on the cup this season… 😜

After the first game this is exactly the best situation we could have been in without Forfar f**king up. Having fresh legs off the bench seems key and we will have more options than Forfar.

The problem with a case like this, is it is emotive. Nobody can say what folk have been through on here - they may have friends or family who have been raped, and the perpetrator never brought to justice, as so often happens; alternatively they may know someone who has been falsely accused.
It's a mess of a case, because ultimately it's one person's word against the others', and all parties were likely intoxicated so even their own memories are probably not reliable.
As I said, a criminal trial would be best, but I can see that resulting in a 'not proven' verdict - which wouldn't prove Goodwillie's guilt or innocence, really.

    What are you getting at
if a criminal court clears him then I would fully accept that
I now defer to the great legal minds of black and white army who reached a different verdict to the judge by not reviewing the evidence or the written judgement

My point really is that guilty people can be found not guilty and innocent people can be found guilty. No matter the outcome there will be people who agree with it and people who disagree, based only on their opinion.
