  1. Especially surprising after the mare he had a few weeks back at rugby park!
  2. For the last half a dozen or so games of the season when we actually started to look decent, McGowan was arguably the weak link in our attack. For the position he was playing, ie floating about behind and supporting thommohawk, he is really poor - someone should really be able to shoot properly when played there. It was shown by the fact he was taken off in nearly every game early in the 2nd half. It seems unless wer playing with two wide men supporting thommohawk, allowing McGowan to be the supplier rather than the supplyee(?), there's no place in our team for McGowan. If Harkins had been here, there is no doubt he would have been playing in that role, it is made for him. It's just a shame that we took so long to start playing that formation. As for McGowan, if we can't play him there and we can't play him wide (which we know we can't) then I think its time up for McGowan. I would rather take Harkins tbh.
  3. The fact is, that teams who can control matches, are the best teams. Whether that is soaking up pressure through good defence and organisation and counter attacking, or not allowing the other team to have posession, as long you are in control of the situation, then you will win the match. That is the magic solution! Teams will play to their strengths to ensure they have the most control of situations in matches.
  4. Has been interviewed for Morton who's wage bill for next season will be 5 times Dumbartons. He's also been holding out on talks with Dumbarton as he knew our board were interested.
  5. McGowan is not shouting at these girls, he is quite clearly looking in a different direction!.......
  6. Don't see the big deal, the guy got sent off and replaced by a young left back who has made the position his own. He hasn't got any divine right to take Kelly's place off him but it seems he thought he did, hence Danny telling him if he didn't like it, he knew where the door was. Signing made sense at the time, makes equally as much sense to let him go now.
  7. Well I think after today, that answers that question! Vanzy didn't seem to know what to do beside Goodwin.
  8. Paeslack nearly scoring a bullet from the halfway line wide on the left - straight after centre was taken. And every one of juniors goals that day at broad wood was setup by his strike partner, Chris iwelumo ( whatever happened to him??). It was at the time he was still being used as a wide right player predominantly by fitzy and iwelumo was still breaking into the side. A bit of a surprise when the game started and they were both paired up front together.
  9. Saints fans were applauding Gauls, really? There were united fans sitting in the comps section but if there was actual saints fans applauding, I don't know why they would for him. He's a decent player but it's not like he's messi and at the end of the day, he plays for the opposition and saints fans should be saving their support for their own team.
  10. Totally agree. If Danny does go, one of the main sole reasons I feel would be his reluctance to bench Goodwin when it's apparent there's just no space for him in the team. Mcgregor and cheesy are better centre Halfs and Newton is a better holding midfielder.
  11. When he played against us last season I actually thought he looked dangerous. Fast and direct, exactly what we are apparently looking for. We seem to be in the position now of beggars canny be choosers and I reckon bounding will be better than signing no one.
  12. People have really short memories...REALLY short memories! Lee Mair lived up to his nickname when we were forced to play him last season and the games he played in pre season reiterated that fact. And before mcgregors injury problems, a lot of our fans seen him as a Scotland pick if he could get a couple of spl seasons under his belt and suddenly he's just not good enough? Based on what exactly, the fact he hasn't played any games in the last 2 seasons due to injury? And I agree that Goodwin may be done. Not got the pace for CH and a waste of a place in midfield. At best he should be backup this season but it'll take a lot for Danny to realise this.
  13. We only have Parkin and guy still to replace from last season. It wouldn't exactly have been a huge loss if they were still here but weren't available for ICT.
  14. Does it not just depend on the contract or even when they sign the contract? For example, if kris Boyd and William gros signed for Killie on 1st August for 12 months, their contracts would run out on 31st July?
  15. The only thing about Reilly is that he seems to be one of these players who always gets hurt. I don't mean he's injury prone (well maybe in around about way I am) or a bit clumsy (which I feel Barron is a bit of, which is why he gets injured a lot), but even during last nights game, he got stood on by debuchy, got hit with the ball whilst on the ground and got a sore one in the nuts from collocini! That on top of playing with strapping on his wrist after falling awkwardly against qos and being out injured last season. May have something to do with him getting stuck in (which he likes to do) but not having the bulk to match it.
  16. I think the part about no one at the club remembering him and him not remembering who the individuals name was, points out that his statement has no value anyway.
  17. And what about if they do want to tell people and come out in public, but feel they can't because of the macho culture built up around football? Should that not be seen as a problem?
  18. They had a pie before the game, hence the hunger wasnt there in the first half. At half time tommy Craig got out his Jamie Oliver recipe book and started reading out some of the recipes. Danny Lennon then started showing the players pictures of nice big juicy steaks. By this point, the players were well and truly hungry again and were ready for the second half.....duh.
  19. This was the match that Gary teale suddenly became a class act for us. I would have given it to him.
  20. Just remember, not only was Samson older than Cornell (Samson didn't get his presaints reputation for nothing - it took him until his mid-late twenties for him to grow up n he was also a bit of a loose cannon when he was younger), but he had also been with us for the last 3-4 years and got to know the team. Lets see if Cornell is still lacking in confidence at the end of the season when he knows his teammates inside out. (Albeit, that might be too late)!
  21. His younger brother is at Real Madrid (he's about 16) and big things are expected of him. And the good news is, he wants to play for Scotland!
  22. You mean like McLean, McGinn and Reilly? And a whole bunch of boys waiting to make the step up this season? And ironically it wasn't any youth system that produced watt, he was a diamond in the rough that Celtic can afford to take a chance with.
  23. I think that's the general consensus - that he's very similar to paddy McCourt in that he's not a particularly good trainer, he enjoys going out a bit too much and apparently he smokes aswell. It's maybe understandable as he was playing local parks football up to the age of 16 before he was discovered so he didn't have the same environment as a lot of boys who come through a club from a very young age. He obviously thinks he's made it because he plays for Celtic and scoring that goal v barca probably reinforced that idea. As for mcgeough, I heard a rumour a while ago that he was one of two boys that we were about to sign on loan from Celtic but he got injured and put an end to the deal (don't know who the other one was).
