I liked Div Barron. He was as hard as f**k, he was aggressive, he tackled like a proper footballer and his opponents shat it from him. He was also deceptively fast, probably our quickest defender actually. He wasn't a good passer so that counts against you in todays game but he was a good defender and hopefully he goes on to get a decent gig somewhere.

Scotland still does far better as far as public spending per head goes than the UK average
But as to the point about "another country" looking after your finances, this is exactly what the SNP clowns are proposing with their half baked currency union drivel. Fiscal control will be entirely with the UK, setting borrowing limits and spending limits. A fiscal straitjacket that isn't necessarily going to suit the "spend everything we can and more" lefty clowns that are liable to be setting up shop at least initially until they have bankrupted us, in Scotland in the unlikely event of Scots being stupid enough to go for a yes vote.

For those who criticise Harkins and Grainger.
You only have to look back to Teales first outings to see that some players take a while to settle in.
Both the players mentioned have had major contributions with other clubs and I am hopeful that, now we seemed to have steadied the ship they might go on to prove the doubters wrong. They aren't bad players but at the moment they can't get into the team because those holding the jerseys deserve to keep them. Youngsters are notorious for being inconsistent so we may need a fully fit, fully focused Grainger sooner or later.
As has been mentioned. Football is about squads nowadays and it's good to have competition for places. Perhaps those on the sidelines will be more determined to do well when they get their chance ala Mair.

Danny's comments are brilliant. The moral high ground is the best place to be. He conceded the decision went our way and the courteous but dismissive non engagement in debate is great. To suggest Jim Goodwin, with all the yellow cards he has, is immune to punishment is laughable.
Adams wears his heart on his sleeve which is admirable at times but he's way off the mark in this regard. Whether it is an attempt to deflect attention from a poor performance or significant indiscipline who knows, but another feather in Danny's cap tonight regardless…

Just read Adams interview on Sky Sports website, think he should expect a call from Vincent Loooooney tomorrow......deflecting attention away from his shambles of a team me thinks....he really is a horrible wee rodent.

Great result and performance, we should really have won that game by 4 or 5. Great to see the young players all playing well, I also thought Mcausland was immense at the back, great team performance all round. County are horrific, totally woeful and Adams is a complete tosser.

Even Norway, yes, SOCIALIST Norway just voted in a right wing government.
To vote yes thinking it will rid you of right wing politics is almost as stupid as voting no because you think Salmond is an obese lying c**t.

Thankfully the Scottish electorate isn't daft, that's why a no vote is a cast iron certainty.
    The latest bookmaker odds:
    No vote 1/7
    Yes vote 4/1
Indeed. I feel sorry for all the yes campaigners who are wasting their money and time on this daft referendum.

    From today's Metro
"Thistle dominated possession but Darren McGregor reckons ditching the Buddies' passing play in favour of long balls paid off.
There are very few games where Steven Thompson has been dominated in the air said McGregor.
He wins more than he loses, so I think if you've got an asset like that you need to use it.
Thistle midfielder Isaac Osborne defended his side's approach to the game and said they would find it difficult to take a more direct approach, as the visitors did on Saturday.
We like to play the game properly, Osborne said"

Fitzpatricks transfer dealings were poor as well. He did shift on several players for money(decent money) and maybe on transfer dealings alone we broke even or close to it. But the wage bill increased dramatically with no real incres in quality on the pitch. Chalmers was on not that much money and was a 10 goal a season premier league player. He was replaced by Torfason who was on a much bigger wage and was still a ten goal a season striker.
The silly spending began under Fitzie and contined unabated for a few seasons culminating in Hays total mismanagement of the side and his signing of all his mates/clients.
The boards decisions at these times were poor to say the least and they should carry a lot of the blame for all of that.
I know that we tend to look at other clubs when they are spending recklessly and slaughter their punters for not saying or doing anything when it is happening and slagging them for lapping it all up. But we did much the same thing really. We probably suffered much worse than other clubs who have done equivalent things though.

There's far too much money in the game as it is and it has totally trashed our once brilliant sport.

Edinburgh city police confirmed on the 27th Sept that 8300 went on the march and less than 6000 were on the hill.
There was a further FOI request to ask for a confirmation of the numbers. Which were then confirmed. It goes into a bit more detail as to why the actual march took so long to pass. The marchers were spread out, there were a lot of gaps and it was badly organised by the event "managers" according to police Scotland.
The Disneyland version of events was that there was "over 20000" at the thing. There wasn't. Not even if you count the eyes. Less if you count the teeth.

8,300 nat punters for something that was supposed to be a show of strength was laughably bad.
And in spite of the lies from the nats about 30,000 being there, a FOI request was put in to verify numbers which were then confirmed. The actual safety limit for the whole hill thing was only 12,000 so if there had been any remote danger of them breaching that amount there would have been problems. But they never came close. A shite turnout for them considering it was only a year to go before they get their arses handed to them by the Scottish people.

It was pretty obvious he was referring to it. I doubt very much he forgot he was playing in the team that won the Scottish Cup in 87.
He clearly stated we won a trophy for the first time in out history, considering we have won the scottish cup three times (one of which he played in) which trophy we had won for the first time in our history do you think he would be referring to?

The record in the league means his position has become untenable. The home form is atrocious no matter how you look at it. The team performance is rotten and its not as if we have a particularly poor side either, it shouldn't be grubbing around the way it is. The team selection is wonky and the treatment of some of the players has been extremly dubious, particularly one or two of the senior ones. No idea why the likes of Mair has been treated like this, he made it clear he wanted to hang around and now he's frozen out in spite of the defence looking less than solid. There could well be stuff going on we dont know about but from the outside it looks poor.
Maybe a new manager will make better use of this squad. Maybe not. But it feels like its all over for him. A shame, I liked him fine, he did deliver a very rare bit of success but the bread and butter stuff has been a shocker. I don't feel very exercised about this one way or another really, almost feels like I dont care and I havent felt like this about football before. Maybe a new guy will freshen it all up again, but it will be tough for them to wait until the transfer window to try and shuffle things if they want to. The club feels like its bobbing around in the water just now. We might go down, we might not, but this decision will affect the club for a year or more and it needs to be done right and not in a panic.
