This section of the forum is for discussing the sale of the controlling interest in St.Mirren.
All the threads related to 10000Hours were locked, as they are no longer bidding for the controlling interest in St.Mirren and frankly were being used as a trolling playground for one or two posters.
The bid relating to the American bids have not been locked, and not has this section of the forum.
I'll make it clearer by moving all the 10000Hours stuff into an archive. Certainly important that it can be reviewed at any time.

Sorry, I don't want this to be about me, I don't really want "thanks" for getting involved, I just really didn't enjoy the level of suspicion that went my way that somehow I was doing this as some sort of ego trip or for some sort of massive hidden gain that I wasn't disclosing.
I genuinely got involved because I thought I could help and I thought it was a good idea. Many other people did the same, including Poz.
It didn't work out and that's a shame but lessons learned all round I think.
As a collective support we should all put this behind us and move on together. No point in continuing to debate whether the merits or not of 10000Hours, it's dead and that's it as far as I'm concerned.
As an aside for all he takes an enormous amount of flak on here, I have a lot of time for someone who put 2 years of his life into this project, who worked on the club board for 18 months of that time for no reward and who also put up £50k of his own money to fund all the legal stuff relating to the bid not to mention also lending the club a six figure sum at one point.
Richard is a bit of a convenient whipping boy and will forever be blamed for the shambles that is the club shop but he did, IMO, bring a lot to the football club and should be thanked for it, IMHO.

We are going to sleep on putting a full statement out tonight but will say this for just now.
We made the very best offer we thought was both Sustainable and deliverable of £1.25m.
We based the value and the structure of the bid based on the Commitments and Finance that we had.
It is obviously extremely disappointing to have had our bid rejected especially having gone through the whole process of raising the fabulous level of support from the Fans for a second time having missed out by such a narrow margin the first time around.
Thanks again to all those (both those for it and against it) that engaged in the process and the debate.

I think the stick Chessy gets its pretty harsh. He's come on leaps and bounds under DL, every time I've seen him I've been suitably impressed. Anyway, a lot of our success will depend on how well he and Mair play this season so let's get right behind them!

I personally support and believe in the bid and have never changed or hidden that opinion.
Similarly I have never closed, edited, moved or removed a single post by anyone who is "anti" the 10000Hours bid.
I have also offered to publish an "anti" article on the homepage if anyone wants to write one.
To suggest this forum is not providing an independent platform for discussing the bid is both insulting and completely disrespectful.

Absolutely nothing was said against SMISA, There was a difference of opinion and it was sorted out that night, Problem is with SMISA some of them are using it as there own private army, But SMISA was set up to get supporters to own the club now thats gonna happen there not happy, Cant have it both ways,

Where is the shift from OMOV?
The 'business investors' are no more likely to secure or entitled to a place on the club board than anyone else. They don't have a block vote. They can put themselves forward, but if they don't receive suffiicient support, they won't secure a seat. Seems quite straightforward to me.

The non executive membership tier guarantees a seat on the new non-executive board, and those members may stand for election to the football club board, but they are not guaranteed it. Same as anyone else.
Today is the day that fan ownership became a reality. We have defined targets, we have defined dates.
If the fans want this to happen it will happen.

Sadly you are not living in the real world if you believe that Rangers will not continue in some form or another.
Whether you like it or not that is what will happen. I will continue to support St Mirren and you and the rest of blowhards can do what you please. Simple really.

I'd agree with that Rick but as I've said before 10000hours isn't some faceless organisation - it's all of us. If the PR is poor then its a job you would expect one of the members to step up to do.
I've given the example before but another membership organisation I was involved with was Motherwell AC. When I joined the committee they had a paltry 6 track and field athletes and the desire was to boost numbers. Law and District overshadowed the club and always had press coverage so I had a go at writing copy for the local press. I wasn't very good but the effort brought in a few new members - one of whom happened to be the owner of The BIG Partnership - one of Scotlands largest PR companies. Within 12 months we had over 150 member athletes and we were getting half page articles in The Sun and The Record.
If the common feeling is that 10000hours PR is shit why hasnt one of the members stepped forward? Maybe we won't get as lucky as I did but there are plenty of journalists among the group that could do the job.

The 87 club has been revealed at ...
    http://www.10000hours.org/87club
The benefits include a parking space, exclusive use of the cic function hall at half time, use of the cic lounge for business meetings, aswell as various exclusive club events such as team photo days and strip launches that members can attend to get exclusive time with the players for photos etc.
The team from the 87 cup final are also to be made honorary patrons.
I wouldn't mind signing up if I had the money but it seems its more aimed at businesses, with some advertising thrown into the benefits aswell.

Cheers Slash. Glad you are enjoying the journey. Me too! This thread has also radicalised me. The more I investigate and find things out the more pissed off I get at the Cooncil for the destruction of fantastic old buildings even in my lifetime. I now hope that all this stops and at least with the Internet public opinion can be galvanised better than it was in the past to protest and protect these monuments to our heritage. Admittedly The Grading of Buildings for their protection is more recent legislation however the Coonsilours could have used a bit of forward thinking in the way that Coats and Clark and others famous Buds did.
If anyone has internal shots of any of the buildings already featured then fire away. I would prefer if a building has not been featured that we wait until it does as its time will come otherwise this thread will become rather chaotic. I know of one poster on this thread who lives in a converted Mill building so I hope that he/she can post images after it has been featured. And of course at Doors Open Day I will be running around like a scalded rabbit trying to see and photograph as many as I can from the inside.
My interest prompted me to yesterday visit the Mill Museum in Seedhill before the Pars game. It is small but interesting especially the photos and free so worth a wee look if you are passing. Details here ... http://www.paisleythreadmill.co.uk/
PS I am thinking of starting a campaign to re-introduce the railings around Dunn Square and make it an amazing garden like it once was and be protected overnight. We'll see. Maybe the CiC (or CO-OP or whatever we become) can get involved!

Yes, my mother took me into the old theatre to see him. There were only a few dozen people in and it was a really kind of eerie atmosphere. When we were there he began to collapse and a couple of attendants rushed to help him. They closed the curtains for a couple of minutes but he kept playing the piano with one hand and when they opened the curtains again he was propped up on a kind of chaise longue playing away. From memory he played for a whole week. When he almost collapsed it nearly frightened the life out of me but later I was told he did that regularly for the publicity.

Not sure about the snooker hall, but my 79 year old mother reckons there was dancing held there regularly in the late 40's/early 50's and that she went to her pal's wedding reception in there around that time too.

Ok I've said no and I'll tell you why. When he left for the gers I thought what the F*** he's not even the best defender at the club in a defense that included Potter and Cammara. At Gers he has done ok but in some ways is a poor defender than when he left. Certainly more full of himself. Can you imagine him bossing our back four around? It would be like getting Potter back. I'd much rather see young naismith get a game.
    So No for playing reasons
    No for financial reasons
    No for Squad harmony
    No for youth development
And no because he left to join the bigots and can jolly well take what he gets
