If they miss 3 penalties from 3 they absolutely deserve to lose this.

Good luck to the boys today - I bought my ticket for this one but a change of circumstances means I'll have to miss it after all.
Hoping for a good result today and a home draw on the next round.

If Kevin Clancy's penalty decision against Efe Ambrose is correct by the laws of football, then the laws of football are absolutely f*cked. This VAR penalty kick nonsense has to stop.

Humourless sarcasm, FS. Is it really necessary ?
You do yourself no favours by launching such a pointless and nasty attack on someone making an inoffensive post. Tut tut.

Wilbur got a reaction from Rascal in Mr Gilmour
Would someone please explain to me why having SGG back on the board of SMFC is a negative ?
As I see it he is hugely experienced in the prudent running of a football club, he understands the politics of Scottish football and the SFA/SPFL, and he has already demonstrated his commitment to SMFC having pulled the club out of the shit once before so why would he now do anything that he believed would be non-beneficial or harmful to SMFC ?
Has he ever acted in any way against the best interests of the club ? If so, remind me.

I accept your apology.
Let's hope Percy is as forgiving as I am.

Most, if not all, of that 1980 team wouldn't be fit enough to get into the current team. As I already said, footballers can only really be judged against those "of their time". Pele, in his prime, would probably be hard pushed to get into the current Brazil side. I'm not saying that players of yesteryear were "worse" (which is totally subjective), just that they had a "different skillset" to modern players and I doubt that football would be any different to sports that can be "measured" (e.g. athletics, weightlifting) in that modern day adherents would probably best the historical ones if it were possible to actually pit them against each other.
Again, whether or not that makes it "better" or more entertaining, is totally subjective. -

Of course he is. He played against some of the best international sides on the planet and acquitted himself very well.
We're now leaving the realm of 'can we afford to lose him' as we always ask and entering 'can we afford to knock that back' bids.
Unless Rangers or Celtic want him and he's worth £6m to those two.

So far, this thread has been speculating about how much St Mirren might pocket from KB's involvement in the tournament.
Does anyone know how much KB himself might earn ?
According to an article on the site www.foxsports.com.au each player in their squad has so far earned $316,000 (maybe Oz $, not sure) for getting this far.
KB has done well (ie earned every cent) from his move to Paisley.

Great news that the boy has been trusted with such a responsibility.
Can you believe that a St Mirren player has been selected to go head-to-head with Lionel Messi in a World Cup tie ?
Honestly, if Baccus can perform tonight, what could this do for his player profile ? Truly, the world could be his lobster (copyright Arthur Daley).
Come on Keanu !!
Oh, and bet you can safely bet your mortgage on a yellow card for Baccus tonight.
😁

Good to see him sticking it into Messi twice. The next one will probably be a yellow card.
