Wilbur got a reaction from eastlandssaint in Keanu Baccus World Cup Money
Great news that the boy has been trusted with such a responsibility.ย
Can you believe that a St Mirren player has been selected to go head-to-head with Lionel Messi in a World Cup tie ?
Honestly, if Baccus can perform tonight, what could this do for his player profile ? Truly, the world could be his lobster (copyright Arthur Daley).
Come on Keanu !!
Oh, and bet you can safely bet your mortgage on a yellow card for Baccus tonight.ย

So far, this thread has been speculating about how much St Mirren might pocket from KB's involvement in the tournament.ย
Does anyone know how much KB himself might earn ?
According to an article on the site www.foxsports.com.au each player in their squad has so far earned $316,000 (maybe Oz $, not sure) for getting this far.
KB has done well (ie earned every cent) from his move to Paisley.ย

Wilbur got a reaction from W6er in Welcome Keanu Baccus
By bringing Keanu Baccus on at half time as Australia's first substitute, Graham Arnold has heralded Baccus as a key member of his Australian squad, not as just a jersey filler.
I'll be sad to see Keanu leave Paisley but, for such hugely a talented player, it is almost inevitable that he'll be gone before long. Going on to bigger and better things, hopefully with our best wishes (and a bumper transfer fee into our bank account).

Wilbur got a reaction from saintnextlifetime in Mr Gilmour
Aye, because SG is the lifelong St Mirren supporter who committed large sums of his own money to rescue our club from an asset stripper who would have put the club into administration / liquidation for personal gain, and whose prudent financial policies returned stability to our basket case of a club, and who conned Tesco into providing us with a stadium fit for our needs has been elected back onto our club board.
Aye, who would want a complete c*nt like him to be in any way involved in the future of our club ??
Honestly, please enlighten me, what are the negatives of his involvement ?

I agree.
Could he be heading to Parkhead ? I suspect Aaron Mooy and Ange Postacoglou could tempt him to Celtic.ย

Inevitable, but still devastating news.
A Scottish legend both on and off the rugby pitch.

Wilbur reacted to Percy Veer in So farewell, Doddie Weir
I was sad to hear about Doddle Weir's passing.ย Wilbur's post above sums up how I feel, it was unfortunately inevitable but he was brave and faced up to Motor Neuron disease.ย He was and will always be a Scottish Rugby legend.ย He was respected and loved by many and I remember watching an interview with Doddie by his former teammate John Beattie in his home on The Nine one evening.ย The admiration and love between the two men was heartwarming.
R.I.P. Doddle.
