Thought the boy deserves some praise. Looked pretty handy last night. Holding the ball up well, goimg direct when he needs to, winning air balls, nice passing and knock-ons to bring his team mates into play in the final third. More or less everything we have been missing so far this year. Looks like he will be an important player in the run in. Here's hoping he wins his appeal today.

I actually think DL plays the game very well. Not afraid of losing face - if theyre not good enough they dont play. If it isnt working out for all parties then its quite right to terminate a deal early. Dont know how that can be seen as anything but good management.

Good post. As someone who has previously worked with the police and who has several friends and family currently serving I agree with everything you've said. He deserves everything that's coming to him.
Also, assuming the assault took place in the custody suite of the police office - I can see reason why he'd be anywhere else in the building - the whole sorry episode would have been recorded on CCTV complete with audio.
Perhaps this fact has more to do with Mr McGowan's guilty plea than him being stitched up by police officers which I can see is ( quite outrageously and perhaps criminally IMO ) being implied here.
As a citizen I'd like to see him locked up, as a St Mirren fan it's terrible news. But there's far more important things than football, and seeing justice served is one of them.

I don't think for a minute anyone is being judgemental - yeah none of us were there (I think) and people do pleas guilty for a variety of reasons - but why would someone who has 1. already been one with the same crime and 2. in the public eye - do so? I would guess cos he bloody well guilty.
Wether some police are antagonising or not - it still doesn't mean you can go around kicking them - just like you can't kick an antagonising person in your work ,for exp, and not expect comeback.
Take the fitba tinted glasses off and think of him as just another member of the public who was assualted someone - simples.
I have never and will never be into slagging off/hating the police - aye,like in all walks of life/jobs/services etc there are feckin numpties BUT you never know when you will need one of these guys or girls.
As for Gowser - it's happened twice - that isn't good, if there are anger issues there or whatever then can only hope he gets help needed cos if he escapes jail this time - if there were a net time - byeeeeeeeeee

We have already played our most important game of the Season, so far.
Queen of the South knocked us out.
Next most important match will be our first Scottish Cup tie.
Worry about the league March/April 2014.( might be worrying whether we finish 2nd or 3rd )
Meanwhile, whit's that smell ?
