The fact that the January transfer window is going to be absolutely vital for us, I'd think that Teale will get the Motherwell game at best. However, I honestly believe that Teale doesn't have a hope in hell of getting the job. I know any appointment is a risk, but GT is too big a risk. The BOD would get crucified if they promoted from within again and it went tits up.
Any new manager is going to need the remainder of Dec to assess the squad and then get a mini rebuilding job underway in Jan.
I think the following will be the guidlines to selecting our new boss:
    1. Someone with experience of having been there and done that.
    2. Someone from outwith the club (new face with fresh ideas)
    3. Someone who is not going to cost a fortune in wages.
    4. Someone with plenty contacts
    5. Someone who isn't going to cost any compo.
Kind of narrows it down to.
    Terry Butcher
    Jimmy Calderwood
    With an outside chance for:
    Stuart McCall
    Kenny Shiels
    Billy Stark
    Steve Lomas

I think internal appointments are fine when things are going well and your manager leaves for bigger things. Makes total sense to appoint from within, so as not to upset things too much. Quite simply just carry on where the old manager left off.
However, when things are going bad and you have to sack the manager, it's definitely a better idea to bring someone in who can deliver some fresh approaches.
You have to remember that number two's and coaches do have a considerable influence on a manager. They put forward many idea's and implement new training methods etc etc. So they definitely are part of the problem (as we found out with TC) or success that the club has.
There is no way the BOD will make that same mistake twice in succession.
I am 100% confident that the BOD will get this right and we will have someone in from outwith the club, who has plenty experience and a decent level of success.
I am fairly confident that one of the following will be our new manager and I would be happy with any of them.
    Terry Butcher
    Billy Stark
    Jimmy Calderwood
    Steve Lomas
I know my Jimmy Calderwood prediction will get slaughtered by some, but the guy has a great record. The only reason some on here don't like him is because he used to wind us right up when he was manager of Dunfermline.

I hate to be cynical, but is it possible that no club is willing to pay the compensation and Kenny has absolutely no option but to re-sign with us.
    Great news for us though

My favourite Saints goal of all time.
I travelled to Porkheid that day in a car with 3 Smelltic fans. They parked the car at exactly the opposite corner from the Saints end so I had to run a gauntlet of stones and phlegm as I walked back to meet them after the game. I grinned like a madman all the way there. A truly brilliant day.
It actually makes me sad that my Saints supporting kids never got to see some of the players I did, Guni being a perfect example.

What a header from him, plus Stickroth skinning their left back, who I think was Wdowczyk, but not sure.

Ross County are laying on free buses to Paisley for this Saturdays match. Which I'm sure means they will bring a bigger crowd than normally.
So how about all the SPFL clubs getting together and making this a permanent thing.
It would mean bigger attendences and possibly more cash in the clubs coffers.
It wouldn't be hard to set up. Quite simply the home team pays for the away fans travel and then gets the cash back from gate reciepts at the turnstyle.
More bums on seats can't be bad.
    Thoughts please guys....
I am ready to be shot down for the crime of positive thinking

Dreadful in my opinion, absolutely dreadful.
Kits are kits though, some like, some don't. I won't cry about it, but I won't be buying it either.

Why would you be shot down my forward thinking forum chum?
It is a great idea if it were to mean that an increase in travelling support would result in such an increase in away crowds that the cost of running a bus would be more than off set by the increased crowds. Increased crowds also means an increase in programme sales and (as Shull will tell you) sales of pies, bovril and other such overpriced rubbish that is sold to the football supporter in this damn fine country of ours.
Another angle would be that less fans would drive horseless carriages meaning that less petrol will be expended resulting in a complete reversal of global warming thus saving the ice at either pole. Even the tree huggers could be persuaded!
Such an idea is unlkely to prove cost effective at lower division clubs where the cost of the bus is more than the gate receipts likely to be received from the 15 or so travelling supporters so each game would have to be considered on its own merit but certianly for SPFL games such a scheme would prove to be a positive move both for football clubs and the un-common travelling supporter.
Good idea as I said, good idea indeed.

Individuals who work for St Mirren "FOOTBALL" club can air their views anywhere they want if they are being mistreated (allegedly).
I am not for one minute saying there is any truth in this though.
Let's say it is true and the employee concerned went through all the correct channels first with no joy. Only then did he decide to come on here and let the fans know what is going on.
    Wouldn't you want to know?
1 .If it is to do with St Mirren, then it is a football matter and in my view the best place for it to be discussed by the fans is on a football forum.
    2. If anything is untoward at our beloved club I would like to know about it, as I am sure most fans would.
So, why can't Brian Caldwell come on here and clear the air (whether it's true or not), either by replying directly to the post or giving Div an official club statement to post on here???
