You can question Jim's methods but I would hazard a guess he was doing exactly the job he was asked. Young lads playing at the top of their game full of gallus bravado against a team smarting from 2 bad defeats. What did anyone expect us to do - stand off them so we could all cream our pants about the amazing Utd talent while watching them pump us off the park ? Yes it looked bad on TV and yes it was a bit of a cheap shot but the boy wasn't hurt (rubbing the back of his head WTF) and the ref saw it and took no action. He might well get a ban now but let's not underestimate the part the challenges had in winning us a vital 3 points they shat their pants after 3 hard clashes in the 1st 10 mins. It horses for courses and we need every point we can get and personally I loved the game a cracking cup tie type match easily the most thrilling of the season.

Given Madden was 10 feet away and looking straight at the incident then any retrospective action against Goodwin would lead to disciplinary action against the ref. I can't see how Goodwin can be cited for it without the same authorities throwing the book at the official for not taking action at the time. Difficulty position fot Mr Lunney methinks.

I'm not trying to detract from Goodwins actions but the whole affair is certainly detracting from our magnificent result.
How much if this is a deliberate ploy from Utd to throw a smokescreen around their thumping?
There are incidents in every game that go unnoticed, I'm surprised were doing our bit to pour petrol onto the fire.

Put your cock away ya fud - you must be gutted. What a performance in what was a fantastic match. The commitment from ever man was outstanding and we bullied a Utd team who were not interested in any sort of physical contact. Special mention for the timing of the Goody substitutions. Perfectly made the point to everyone well done Danny for that.

Of course they require protection but they do not EXPECT to be assaulted nor are they paid enough to expect it. Should train drivers take a kicking at work as they earn considerably more than your average police officer. What you earn has no bearing on how likely you are to be assaulted in the course of your duties. Going by your code firemen can take all the ned brickings they get as they are paid sufficiently to merit it. Oh and by the way the guilty party here just happened to earn at least 5 times more than those he assaulted.

An awful lot of amatuer sheriff / judges on here deciding on a sentence. Lets just let the law take it's course then discuss the fall out then. He might be jailed he might not but why speculate what might be the consequences when no one knows the punishment yet. Whatever the punishment handed down he will have deserved it since he has admitted the charge but beyond that no one should be speculating on what the effect should be on his livelyhood.

Blame for a youngster not making the grade? Supporters get more fickle by the day.
Has anyone considered that the guy maybe needed another 6-12 months before breaking through (not easily predictable) and got tapped by a lesser club, so decided to ask for a move. Nobody knows. Anyway, signing youngsters is a lottery in many ways, how many times have people taken credit for taking a chance on a kid-it could go either way in every case.

I don't get the "failed signing" chat that's getting banded about on here. Were a club that's not got much of a budget, do fans really think were going to pick up proven players for free and within our wage structure?? Scouts, coaching staff and the manager need to go on players previous achievements and what they can see in games and training, this boys looked pretty decent as have most he picked up during the summer! I cant think of one player we signed that I instantly thought "no" or was displeased by his Wikipedia profile (which is about all we have to go on!
It seems some on here cant see the nonsense theyre are spouting for there sheer hatred they have for the manager

We appear to have gone full circle as it appears only fit adults would encounter the infamous stitch. Presumably we all ran about enough in childhood (Im pre computer generation) to trigger one. Bloody sore as I recall it.

Whilst laughing at Gary Harkins blowing out his arse after 10 mins the other night we were speculating whether he might develope a stitch. This lead to a post match discussion about whether adults or pro spotsmen ever do suffer a stitch. Googling it there is very little hard fact on the condition seems to be various different explanations for the potential cause. Has anyone ever had a stitch in adulthood and can pro athletes suffer one ?

cup tie pricing is about negotiating with the opposition to get the best deal for all possible.
Maybe... just maybe... Q0S were not prepared to go below £15... ... but in an attempt to save even a few fans a few coppers in a very busy period, this was suggested as an add on.
Obviously it has caused upset to some.
But I ask again... had it been £15 across the board... would folks have accepted that?
If so... why do you grudge a fellow fan a Brucie bonus Christmas fiver?
I couldn't make the first Ross County Game... I was admitted to the replay for free when others had to pay a tenner.
To even it up... I bought a tenner's worth of raffle tickets to help Saints youth development.
I buy my Season Ticket essentially because cash up front is said by the club to help them most.
I'd be cheaper paying at the gate as I miss matches due to work rotas or last minute TV re-scheduling.
If the club has managed to negotiate a deal that saves me a fiver then I would say Thank You.
When the club gives discounts to non Season Ticket holders as an incentive I say "well done".
In the grand scheme of things... I truly cannot see why this is been seen as such a divisive issue.

So DL has only signed 1 or 2 decent players in 3 seasons. Very clearly you are not a Saints fan and obviously never watch our games. Sure he signs a few who dont cut it but so does every other manager. As you point out given his budget he does OK and at least he realises when he has made a mistake and generally gets them out the door sharpish. Preferable to letting them see out their contract on full wages Im sure you would agree ?

Agree 100% about the pitch awful to turn on and seemed to suit the long high ball by back spinning and holding up with sharp passes skidding off the surface uncontrollably. Will be a different game on grass. Still no excuse for Goodwins distribution mind you - brutal !
