Anything up there will be a bonus but we live and hope.

Truthfully. A continuation of what we saw against both Celtic and Hibs would do me and any points gained would be a very welcome bonus.

Honest question here..........Pittodrie is not a happy hunting ground for us
and we've really still to get a settled squad on the pitch.... so what are our realistic thoughts on picking up anything from this game?
I certainly believe that we are on the way to a team that can compete but think it's going to take another couple of weeks to see the fruits of Oran's signings and his game plans
I'm hoping for a draw but to be brutally honest won't be surprised if we get nothing as yet still think we're a game or two away

south_seas_saint reacted to St.Ricky in ARE WE READY FOR A SCRAP
Tough season ahead. Was never likely to have been otherwise. Reasons.. 1. Step up in the class of the opposition. 2. Other teams have bigger budgets (Livvy apart). 3. The timing and drawn-out nature of Jack Ross Leaving. 4 Consequent delay in New manager appointment.5. Delay in entering the transfer market. 6. Signings of inexperienced players. 7. Injuries to experienced players. 8. Signing of new manager. Time to reboot and move on. This season and next will be cruicial to the club. Note: The McGinn Money needs to be used wisely.

Unlikely it may seem to some, but, I don’t think for a minute we will be ‘scrapping’ for survival.
We will get going soon enough & have a respectable season.
Oddly enough, just 2 more points picked up & I doubt threads like this would have appeared so early.
The proverbial ‘if’ we’d drawn against Livingston & Hamilton, obviously we didn’t, but had we of drawn ? Perhaps people would think differently, alas we didn’t but it doesn’t change my outlook on this season.
We ‘accepted’ we’d lose more than we won this season, doesn’t necessarily follow we will be relegated.

You would have seen the smasher that Bobby Adamson scored against hibs in that 3 -0 drubbing at love st on our return to first division ..
I remember the Record had a pic calling it a "Bobby Dazzler" it was all of a thirty yard screamer .......
mind you every goal I've ever seen St Mirren score has been a screamer even if it trickled in from a rebound
And my pick of best goal ever seen............................Anyone...........that's won us the game when our nerves have been shredded

"Any Time at All" a win under Oran

If the boy can put the baw in the net he'll do me.
I'm just looking forward to the time we get a settled squad on the pitch and that's no going to happen over night or one player at a time but It WILL happen
Have faith in Oran and the fans to boost and lift the players who do get on.

Yep feel robbed of whats obviously been one of if not the our best period in our history.......the best period I had was the Alex Wright reign then family moved here in 69 and we had been doing ok in the first 11 games then it slowly started to turn bad and by the time I was in NZ Feb 69 it turned to custard.....
So I'm finally gonae accept responsibility and blame me for the decline in not being there
Took nearly a decade to come right and what a time that was for you all to bask in.
The best I've been able to see was the League cup win via feed but don't think anyone could say that tops that brilliant period in our history

A brilliant time yes but for me and many far flung buds sadly also as you say a time before internet so dark days way down here where news was only seeing the scores and the league tables in the local rags hard but good times so wish I could have shared
