civilsaint got a reaction from insaintee in Happy New Year, Bring On The Killie, 1/1/15
Linesman looks fairly well up to play, but still looks offside to me.
Best benchmark we can get:
(Granted the screenshot is a fraction of a second late)

Made what easy for the referee?
What did Cheesy do wrong?
The way some fans treat our own players is utterly disgraceful.

Those who have had the benefit of watch TV footage seem to completely disagree.
What do you think Cheesy did?

A very dignified, moving and honest piece by Simon's brother in the Evening Times.

civilsaint reacted to Tam M in John Mcginn
With all the doom and gloom these days on here.... thought I'd share this uplifting story about one of our players.
Tonight my Mum won an Unsung Hero award at the Great Scot 2014 awards. I noticed on Twitter that McGinn was there and mentioned that my Mum was there. He messaged me asking what table. Within 5 minutes I had a text from my Dad saying he had just got his picture taken with John McGinn.
Some lad. Whilst we might be pissed off at what is happening at St Mirren just now, things like this reminds me I wouldn't have it any other way.

civilsaint reacted to Stuart Dickson in Salmonds Career Is Over
He had to go. Salmond led a dreadful campaign that failed to show any vision. He lied, spun, smeared, bullied and ultimately he lacked likeability and credibility.

Some of our some so called fans like nothing better than downing their own club. It's beggers belief. Let's get in into perspective were a small provincial club with a 8,000 seater stadium. What they expect a scoreboard the size of the one at parkhead they used for the commonwealth games. It's making money for the club already so how is that a bad thing. Club are trying to exhaust every way to bring some much needed cash. We'll done to all involved. The moaners get a life ffs.

I'm going to duck out of this now, it seems ridiculous to be spending so much time discussing a scoreboard.
The negativity within our support towards our football club absolutely astounds me at times.
Night !

I will add the words website design to my advert since it seems to have upset a few people.
I dunno, I kind of thought putting new money into the club we all support would be a good thing.
Tell you something, if I was a random punter who was advertising on there and my advert was getting the sort of flak I'm reading here I'd probably think twice about doing it again. What a great message we are sending to potential sponsors.

It's primary purpose is to create revenue for the club. It's done that, it's doing that.
I can only talk about my own advert and it was perfectly readable from the main stand and from the west stand. I'm not sure what it looks like from the North or South but either way it is doing what I expect of it. I designed my own advert.
I really can't see why you are so angry about it. If you don't like the screen then fine, but trying to actively put off potential sponsors of YOUR club seems f**king absurd to me.
Crack on though fella.

Which then prompts you to look it up or discuss it with friends or even discuss it on a football forum.
Great advertising strategy.

So, one can see the score on the scoreboard from the furthest viewing position.
Looks like a job well done from SMFC.

civilsaint reacted to shull in Protocol Regarding The Receiving Of Change From Retail Outlets
I havent done it but would it be cheeky to do.
If i gave a checkoot dude a 20 quid note for say a 5 pound purchase.
He then puts my 20 thru his anti counterfeit machine.
Would it be okay to ask him/her if i could put my 15 pound change thru the machine also, just to check ?

Automated Machines - 10/10
It gives you yir change all separately ( coins , notes and receipt ) and you can grab it at your leisure.
A cashier should pass it to you separately also, Coins first, then notes and then a receipt ( if applicable )
It makes receiving it and putting it away a lot easier. 10/10
..................................................................................................................................
There are 2 zeroes out of 10
First one is when cashier gives you coins notes and receipt all together and plonks it into your hand with mega coins balancing on yir notes. Half the time, coins end up on the floor. Very poor training.
And this gets on my tits.
I hand cashier payment straight into his/her hand.
I put my hand out to receive change.
And the Cnut/Cnutette puts my change on the counter while my hand is outstretched.
Outrageous.

Like I said, an example of why fans shouldn't get too involved in running businesses.

First mistake is that a "joiner" is the wrong trade for such a job.
Secondly, it would cost £500 to print the adverts never mind build the structure.
You'd be talking at least £20,000 for something like that (before even thinking of the screen cost).

^^ A demonstration of why fan involvement in business is rarely a good idea.

-

At the risk of pointing out the obvious is it not the case that the screen is positioned the way it is so that all three home stands can see it ?
