  1. Baffled by all the comments to the effect that we have a group of decent players. I must be watching a different team.
  2. I'm simply no longer confident that we avoid the play-off position at the wrong end of the league. Another average team comes to Paisley and bullies our wee boys. Not a glimmer of a positive to be found in yet another shambolic 90 mins.
  3. Clueless game management by all concerned. Suddenly a mid-table finish looks ambitious.
  4. Quite honestly, some of the abuse dished out to the lad on this forum is appalling.
  5. The team's performance in the away league that night was the best, by a country mile, in what was a horrible season. To hold such a good side to 0-0 on their on patch was tremendous. Mind you, those of us who saw the game realised that we'd be up against it in Paisley. The booking of blue crayon boy and his suspension for the 2nd leg was critical. Mechelen clearly spotted him as our key player and goaded him into a daft booking, aided by some strange refereeing, of course. Still, if we could only have those problems now....
  6. Think Mr Murray is beginning to look a busted flush and it's not even September. Depressing.
  7. TBH, after all this time, can't get excited in the slightest about either of these guys signing. Clearly, Webster would rather be anywhere else than at St Mirren.
  8. St. Mirren Active retweeted Football Gibraltar @FootballGib 2h Former @GlacisUtdFC and @EuropaPointFC midfielder Anderson Pinto linked with a move to a Scottish side, possibly St Mirren (via @5point_4)
  9. I liked Jim. Any journo that gets right up the noses of either half of the OF is fine in my books.
  10. If the club has broken the law over this matter the it deserves everything it gets. Deplorable state of affairs and perhaps another indication of bad decision-making on the part of a BoD that is way past its sell by date.
  11. His 1975 solo album, Fish out of Water, is excellent. Amazed he never produced another.
  12. I'm led to believe they have 'rented' the shop for this evening's game so far. However, what happens on Saturday? There is a wedding booked into corporate which is largely of a St Mirren persuasion in terms of guests. With pictures scheduled to be taken at the ground I would not be best pleased to see the place branded with another football club, whoever that club may be.
  13. Is he not an ex-Buddie?
  14. I seem to recall extracts fro his (ghost written) autobiography in which he stated that he lied to Wigan, his employer at the time, about an injury to help pave the way for his move to Oldgers. Wage thief is a phrase used frequently, most times unfairly, on this forum. His actions as described are as close as you get to definition. Don't want him near our club.
  15. I await the sponsorship deal with Herbal Life! Seriously though, Hope Mairzo is a big success at Stranraer.
  16. Sufficient to wish Gregg all the best for the future and move on. Simply no need for some of these ridiculous comments. Unfortunately, it appears to be a trait on this forum.
  17. St Mirren boss Ian Murray says he won't be raiding former club Dumbarton since their part-time players cannot afford to take a drop in wages. (Various)
  18. Think it would be a decent move for the lad. Decent money. SPFL football and a bigger club than St Mirren. He'd be daft not to consider it.
  19. We'd have to pay him a mint to rejoin the club, putting us back in the red, swiftly followed by the brown stuff. Don't think the BoD would have the bottle.
  20. Sad news indeed. Seemed, at heart, a genuinely decent bloke. However, due to his problems over the last ten years or so I was never totally convinced that he was fully analytical in his position on a number of things. Bacling the No campaign in the indy ref being a case in point. His position was unfortunate as I also believe that he would have been a huge personality in the Scottish Parliament. (Independent or otherwise.) Perhaps the shining exception to that loss of focus was his opposition to the Iraq war. He raised his game big time to cut throught the bullshit that was being spouted to justify this illegal war. Either way, a man who was mindful of his own background and so his main function as serving his constituents to the full. A certain Mr Carmichael would do well to reflect on what the LibDems have lost.........
  21. Can understand the decision from GT's point of view but I think its a missed opportunity for all parties. I could have seen him working alongside the new manager. Would've given him that bit more experience before taking the step into management again. Shame really.
