  1. The bit that makes me laugh is Utd and their fans greetin' about 'trial by media'. They don't do irony, do they?
  2. Smartest signing Gus ever made.
  3. Smoke and mirrors, the whole thing. This is the first BoD statement on this matter. Statement two in a few weeks will say that we have ben inundated with applications, from all around the world, some outstanding names throwing their hat in the ring. Statement three will come a further few weeks after that....asking the fans to be patient, diffcult task to work through such quality of applicant to draw up a shortlist, taking their time to make sure they get it right for this important pre-season. Statement four will be released a week or so before a ball is kicked....the BoD would like to welcome Gary Teale on a full-time basis. Not disrespecting gary in any way. He inherited a shambles and was never going to be experienced enought to turn it around. Just making a point that this BoD will try to work the same nonsense that they got away with last time. Take the perceived cheap option irrespective of the potential damage to club and the individual's reputation/career prospects.
  4. Instead of squandering this money on terminating player's contracts, some of it should have been used to retin non-playing staff who have lost their jobs through the incomptetnce of the BoD.
  5. Perhaps certain members of the BoD didn't take too kindly to his recent comments in the press that the club had been a bit hasty in 'sacking' Danny Lennon?
  6. The worry has to be that this is the beginning of a downward spiral and not the end of it as some may hope. Mr Gilmour has previous when it comes to throwing the baby out with the bath water. Fail to win the first half dozen or so games in the Championship and we'll see a repeat of 2001's firesale mentality when he announced that the full first team squad was up for sale....we then slide down the table. In truth, the writing hss been on the wall for a good number of seasons.
  7. Couldn't agree more. Fed up hearing this mantra that relegation is to be expected at a club our size. Well, somebody forgot to tell the likes of Killie and Motherwell. We are facing the drop because we have a Chairman and Board that ran out of ideas long ago and have used that excuse to mask their inadequacies at the top level. Having done such a great job in laying the foundations for growing the club (new ground, training facilities, etc) they STILL couldn't move us forward. A return to the lower leagues without so much as a whimper will be their legacy. Penny pinching has been the order of the day, with the excuse of lost revenues against Hertz, Hibs and Sevco being used to justify it. How ironic it'll be to see to of those so-called cash cows bypass us at the end of the season. God knows what this lot will try to sell next. I recall that this is a Chairman who declared the whole first team squad to be up for sale the last time we didn't get off to a decent start in the First Division. Bound to be catastrophic.
  8. The consequences of McLean's departure was there gor all to see today. In a team with only three or four genuinely quality players, giving one away for virtually nought is criminal.
  9. Surely playing more than one Trialist in the game this evening? Otherwise, what is the point?
  10. Two games in two years. Lost the will to watch this team long ago. When we give away our best players for peanuts it tells me that it is going to be a long, long time before I'm back. This BoD has managed to undo years of good work in one idiotic season. Utterly depressing.
  11. I'm hearing it won't be any more than 250k. A steal.
  12. Sod's law he'll score against us. No matter what happens the rest of today, you could say that grabbing whatever cash is on offer is tantamount to saying the BoD has no faith in Gary keeping us up.
  13. Someone at the club advised a colleague of mine that the Dons certainly made an offer for Kenny but it was way short of our valuation and was knocked back. If he is indeed travelling up to Aberdeen with a view to signing then it'll be because of the usual stupid contract clause. We always seem to get caught out by this nonsense.
  14. I was at that particular game and have one of those 'papers' somewhere in my Mother's house. If my memory is correct, it was actually the programme for the game itself. Four pages in total, mostly written in Flemish I seem to recall. It was some trip.
  15. Only team in the top flight that hasn't found the opposition's net. Says it all. Gonna be a long, difficult season again. Early days, I know, but felt the appointment of TC was a mistake and the signs aren't encouraging. People hoping for decent signings before the next game in a couple of weeks. Is it likely? Would you sign for a club that looks like it has lost direction? Doubtful. More bloody loanees if we're lucky. Club needs to be sold. A new vision and impetus needed.
  16. Never forget that wonderful winning goal in LC against Morton in extra-time. Must have dribbled the ball past the opposition at least twice before scoring. Genius.
  17. 1-0 to the Blue Brazil apparently.
  18. Was quite common in Spain for regions to have a 'national' side at one time. Like most things, it was a practice that was 'discouraged' by Franco. Certainly, given the anti-Francoist role of the miners in that region, it's amazing that they played any games at all.
  19. Some on Twitter suggesting that MacGregor is heading for Hearts?
  20. As he pointed out, 9 years at the club in total and 3 winners medals. Not a bad haul.
  21. Well that's Vamzy confirmed he's away on Twitter.
  22. Just heard from a Saints supporting colleague an hour ago that he was seriously ill and it wasn't looking good. Noneless, sad to hear of his sudden passing. Like most fans, I didn't know him by name but was well used to seeing him at away games. Always brought a smile to your face with his devotion to the cause. Condolences to his family and friends.
