I vaguely remember something similar being said, probably a newspaper putting a spin on a quote from Danny. Danny could have easily left and got tore into to BOD but being the true get he is he didn't. I bet he is also not enjoying or gloating over the state we are in. I hope he gets the Scotland gig permanent, he deserves it.

Biggest issue we have had as a club is the mentality of taking it 12 months at a time with contracts , it feels that every time a season ends there is a scramble to give players contracts or to sign new players on another short term deal for next season. It would be nice to be starting January with a good idea what the core of the following season would be and to have tied up a few players who will be out of contract in June. I know the board will argue the toss that they can't commit until they know final league position, but surely stability of both coaching and playing staff would bring more consistency and desire to do well.

Can we afford to continuously piss away money on poor signings that get released mid contract and not to get back to the SPFL?

If I were a director my plan would be: Bring in a director of football role with them given time and focus on what the team and set up will look like next season. Allow them to review the youth set up and ensure that we have a strategy in place for that. Tell Gary that he has a role at the club next season in either a coaching role or as first team manager if he performs to a standard deemed acceptable by the director of football. Allow Gary to seek advice from the director of football but make him accountable for results. Communicate to fans that it's been an unacceptable season and lessons learned. Explain that they have got some one working on long term plans.

How about an experienced director of football type role to oversee and guide Gary as well as take accountability for sorting out our scouting system, youth development and recruitment policy's. Give Gary someone to learn from and concentrate on coaching and managing the first team for the rest of the season. We are f**ked right now and need to be thinking what if we go down. Also need to be thinking what if we stay up and strategy for not getting in this state next year. I don't think it'd fair to bring in a new man and have him thinking of next season right now, however if we don't plan ahead we are in real trouble so maybe a role above Gary would give us a bit of strategic planning.

Genuinely nice guy who cared about the club and more importantly it's supporters. The time he took to get out and about in the community was superb and even in our poor runs I always felt he hurt more than anyone. Best of luck Danny.

Simple facts are:- * Board all want out * The club's gates are down and we will be down in prize money * costs are up due to see shit decisions of their own making * club can't cut costs enough to cover what I imagine would have been losses * selling Kenny covers these losses * Board can still say that the club is not making a loss at the next AGM *this means the selling price can stay at 2 million *if we go down John McGinn will be off and that covers losses next year *BASICALLY Beyond balancing the books and not losing money the board do not give a flying f**k about developing the club.

Firstly best of luck Kenny and thanks for the effort and some fine performances. I am sure that now you have gone to a team challenging at the top you will get some deserved Scotland call ups. Secondly BOD shame on you for letting a talent go for such a small sum, I just hope (but doubt) that you have a percentage of next sale clause in his contract. Although part of me thinks f**k the BOD any way as if we did get any more I am sure that the money would not have found its way to developing the squad any way. I will always be grateful for all the hard work that Gilmour and Co have done in saving the club however I really dont like how they seem to have just given up now and it feels since Danny Lennon left that there isn't any real mention of the fans or community.

Players come and go and have done for over 100 years. The fact he's going doesn't bother me we will move on, normally he's injured in January anyway. What does bother me though is the pittance we are getting. If dundee utd are selling Robertson and Gauld for the fee they are getting and hendrie is going at the end of his contract for a million then we have been sold well short.
