Great stuff today, and the best atmosphere the ground has had in yonks. Would like to see the red card again. Hugh Keevins on the radio saying having viewed it, we should appeal
-
That was just awful last night. Kelly got pulled apart and Cheesy had a shocker. Midfield weren't in it and Thommo never looked likely. But for ten minutes at the start of the second half there was no urgency. Heads look down, and I do fear for the rest of the season

Have only done a couple of the legs, not the whole 90 miles, but was great. Wholeheartedly agree with the Compeed shouts. Miracle workers.

Strange one today, thought the shape wasn't bad, and Newton did ok at RB. McGinn is such a good young player, our best by a mile. Hope Magennis coming back in gives us something next week, as we just didn't look like scoring at all today. At least the other results went our way

This has to be the most intriguing signing we've made in years. Hope he's in good shape, certainly brings experience, and like was mentioned earlier in the thread, when did we last have someone with a realistic shot at a World Cup squad. Welcome to Paisley Eric

Good luck to him. A shame that his injuries stopped his career in its tracks, but always seemed to give it all he had any time he pulled on the stripes.

John Mcginn Young Player Of The Month
Stevo replied to Murray7's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
He is an absolute diamond of a young player. Clearly talented, but has a fantastic attitude. Don't know how long we'll be able to hang on to him, so I plan to enjoy every one of his displays while he's here. -
Like most on here, I reckon this is a good signing. With him and Campbell, nice to have some real pace in the side
-
Good news indeed. Glad to have him still on board

He is a very lucky boy. Neither he nor the club could have hoped for better. Would like to see him make the most of this leniency and hope he appreciates the support he's had.

St Mirren V Dundee Utd, 26Th Dec 2013
Stevo replied to faraway saint's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Not a result many if any of us saw coming, but a great turnaround after the last couple of games. Good performance by the players and the management. Would love to see this roll onto Sunday. Skelp the Jambos and pocket six home points in a Christmas week. Gotta love our wee club on days like today -
St Mirren V Butcher's Hibernian Top League Nov. 2013
Stevo replied to shull's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Don't know why, but I've got an uneasy feeling about this one. If the team carry in the belief which they've earned over the last few weeks, and ignore all the noise about Butcher taking charge, they're more than capable of winning this and taking us up to 7th. Obviously hoping for the win, but a point today wouldn't be a bad result. -
Partick Thistle V St Mirren Top League 9/11/13
Stevo replied to shull's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Fingers crossed we can convert this into three points today. Gutted not to be at the game, so thanks to those giving the updates. A win today and next Sunday and the early part of the season looks a lot better than it did a month ago. -
St Mirren V St Johnstone Top League 19/10/13

What an afternoon. Lots of good performances, trying not to dwell too much on being pegged back three times. MacLean and McGinn both outstanding today. Always nice to be able to watch Sportscene on a Sunday -
I know I'm in the minority, but DG lives next door to me, so I feel honour bound to be supportive

So sad to hear. I didn't know him, but such a young age. Thoughts to his family.
-
Clearly it's daft to write him off after Saturday's 45. Of course he needs some training sessions with the team not to mention a little time in the country to find his feet. He might turn out to be great or he might not, but as supporters we have a role to play in giving him a fair chance. After that it's down to him and only then you can make a reasonable assessment.

Wasn't there some strange experimental offside rule for the Tampa game. Zones on the pitch or something.

Pleased with this. A good day's business by the Saints. Welcome to the club Gary

Carey And Parkin First To Go.........
Stevo replied to FTOF's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Disappointed the way it's worked out. Carey was such an exciting signing, then we were stunned by the size of him when last season started. We've seen some flashes of great play, and his performance in the cup semi was fantastic. Sorry to see him going as we never got the best out of him, and wish him well. With big Sam, it just never really happened. Looks like there will be some pretty major upheaval this summer. You never know, we might get more days like Thommo and Teale signing -
Millport was our place too. I still make sure I get back there at least once a year all these years later. Always thought the Nixe was much better than the Ritz, despite their best ice cream in Scotland claim.Ended up with a summer job in the caravan site as a teenager. Still my favourite place in the whole world

The Danny Lennon and Tommy Craig Appreciation Thread
Stevo replied to shull's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
You can see in the team's attitude in the last three games against sellik that DL and TC have convinced them what thy are capable of. DL has shown that he has learned and grown in the job, and the result is the most enjoyable Saints team to watch in years. We're lucky to have him and TC guiding our players -
Watched it again today too. Just love seeing what this means to the players, to Danny and TC, to the chairman, and to the fans. This really is a cracking football club

Magnificent from start to finish. Maybe a surprising line up, but very positive and tactics absolutely bang on. Have to say that was Carey's best game since his loan spell. Third goal was a very special moment and hard to think of a better time to be a Buddie. Thank you Saints
