Got to be the worst performance, and if it stays 0-1, worst result for quite a time.

Offered next to nothing in chances, most of the team look as if they have taken this game for granted.

At least Friday, as bad as the final score was, showed plenty of promise in general play.

A reality check and a dent to the hopes for the Euros.

0-1 80 mins.

Well, what a bad night.

Performance, pish poor.

Energy, tragic.

Hard to find any positives about tonight.

Could have played all night and probably not scored.

No need to pick out any player who was better or worse, as a team there was something missing, and the manager has to take the flack for that.

Small consolation that our record in friendlies is honking.

In real games, well, we have a completely different record.

Still, this game must dent the confidence and hopes for the Euros, echoed by the response from the crowd tonight.

Well done Northern Ireland.

My Grandfather would have been delighted with that result.

Maybe Karma, after the Scotland fans booed the Northern Ireland national anthem before the match.

At times, we can be a horrible wee nation. We done the same to England then got humped.

Not really frightening the opposition with the abuse.

Roll on the Euros.

At least we won't be going with an Argentina 1978 mindset.

Although, you never know, if we leather Gibraltar.

COME ON SCOTLAND

We need to find a decent striker with a Scottish grandparent sharpish.

A lot more to it than that after tonight's performance.

From back to front we were woeful, slack passes, terrible crosses and a tragic final ball.

The best "striker" in the world wouldn't have scored for us tonight and we don't have a top striker in the squad.

Our midfield have been the main source of goals over the last few years and they were, as a unit, invisible tonight.

A bad day at the office.

2 games to build some confidence before Germany.

We're not, all of a sudden, a bad side and it's up to the manager to lift the mood and get more from the players.

Clarke, rightly, has taken plenty of plaudits, now he has to take responsibility to get things back on track.

Rarely see a full Scotland match( thanks to satellite tv) but team looked even worse than I had suspected. Germany will massacre that lot in the Euros. This latest defeat was in effect by an English second and third division select. Does not bode well for them.

Typical shortsighted response.

Short memory, or, in your case, no real memory.

Are you really related to elvis as it's hard to find two empty vessels on the one forum?

Astounding stat................

Only won 2 from 19 friendlies..........................not sure about the draws.

Yet won 15 from 21 real games.

That's quite a contrast.

Was wondering what our record was and I'm surprised it's that good we are hopeless at friendlies and always have been.  we lose the edge that our type of football needs

It's a startling contrast.

You can look at it both ways....................friendlies are, well, friendlies and don't matter.

Tell that to the punters who fork out big money to watch the team home and away.

Quite why the difference is that massive is anybodies guess.

On the other hand, we have done the business when it matters.

I'm certainly not as hopeful as I was a while ago.

NO matter what anybody says the lack of victories is a concern and tonight's performance, almost a reverse from Friday, was a real worry for me.

Well, Scotland really stank out Hampden Park this evening.

You've got to give credit to Northern Ireland, Michael O'Neill and Diarmuid O'Carroll, they came to Glasgow with a game plan, got their players to play to their strengths and got a good result despite not having a lot of possession.

I totally agree with Shull, passing about the back and sideways is boring and gets you nowhere.  This International week has been a real eye opener and reality check.  Scott McTominay and John McGinn should be ashamed of themselves for going down so easily.  Embarrassing stuff.  Against the Netherlands, McTominay was also quite temperamental, screaming at a Dutch player to get back up after a coming together - just concentrate and get on with the game and let the Referee deal with any shenanigans from the opposition.

Germany couldn't have handpicked a better nation to start off their tournament in the summer.  Let's just hope we don't end up with 0 points at the end of the group stages.

We have one in Lawrence Shankland and this was the game he should have started against a packed defence

We had 3 decent efforts on goal tonight two of them came from Shankland he only came on in the 78th minute, he was unlucky not to score against the Dutch too
