BaldyOzBud got a reaction from Murray7 in St Mirren V Qots Scottish Cup Round 4 Replay
I'll be up in the wee small hours listening ( hopefully ) to the sportsound online commentary, and if not, then it will have to be the live text service, I've a few beers stashed in the fridge as well as a halftime pie.
4-0 Saints

BaldyOzBud reacted to Lex in The First Team Contracts Thread
Since one of our esteemed moderating team inadvertently deleted my effort from last night, here we go again! On the back of Jason Naismith being the first player to earn a contract extension this season, i thought i'd list the contract status of all first team players currently at the club for reference. Correct my errors and i'll try keep it updated as new deals are signed.
Contracted till the end of the season:
Stephane Bahoken (loan expiring)
Conor Newton (loan expiring)
Marian Kello
David Van Zanten
Darren McGregor
Lee Mair
Jim Goodwin
Steven Thompson
Paul McGowan
Kenny McLean
Gary Teale
Danny Grainger (1 year extension option)
David Barron
Mo Yaqub
Anton Brady
Kieran Hughes
Christopher Dilo
Jon Scullion
Adam Campbell (loan expiring)
Contracted beyond the end of the season:
Jason Naismith: May 2017
John McGinn: May 2016
Sean Kelly: May 2016
Mark McAusland: May 2015
Thomas Reilly: May 2015
Gary Harkins: May 2015 (currently on loan to Oldham Athletic until May 2014)
Priorities have to be Kello and Newton. They've both became an integral part of our team but they may be leaving us very soon. Conors situation will obviously be up to Newcastle, hopefully they'll look kindly on us again and send him back up the road. Hopefully no one comes in and offers Marian more money!
The next player i'd love to see us sign up is Sean Kelly, he's been tremendous recently and i hope he joins his fellow young full back in penning a long term deal. After him the next 3 players i'd like us to get signed up are Dilo, McGowan and McLean. They're all young enough and good enough. I imagine Gowser will play his situation the same as he did last season, leave it to the last minute and weigh up all options before deciding. I think and hope Chris and Kenny will repay us by signing new deals before the end of January.
That leaves the over 30 brigade: Goodwin, Teale, Mair, Van Zanten and Thompson. I think and hope Goody will stay, but it's hard to tell with the others. I'd be surprised if Vanzy and Teale were still here next year, i think Mair could go on for a couple of years but given his fractious relationship with the management he'll probably move on. Then there's Thommo. He will be 36 next season, i think he's good enough to play at this level for another 2 years at least beyond this one if he wants to, will he want to though?

I don’t think it’s a good idea to disrupt the team by shifting Newton or McGinn. Newton has developed a really good link up with Naismith with Naismith often pushing up and Newton dropping into right back. Likewise McGinn and Kelly. I would put McGregor into the Goodwin role and slot Mair in at CB to minimise disruption.

Aye your right. In my opinion I would try not to upset a whole lot of the team and either try to get a direct replacement in for Jim so that the rest of the team continue in their positions, or keep it to very minimal changes.
Who could go straight in? Could Grainger do it? I know Barron has been played in there in the past but I don't know how his fitness is.
My thoughts on Sunday when leaving the ground were maybe play McGregor in that role and bring in Lee Mair to the back 4 though not sure about his fitness either.
Its a tough one, the good thing is that as he is a Ghost he could probably sneak on without getting seen anyway,

Looking forward to this game already. There will be huge media interest in this game and can see a 5,000 plus crowd with Hibs packing that away end with possible overspill antics into West Bank. Briillliiant to see over 4,000 buddies there today. We oddly failed to get 4,000 St Mirren fans to attend any post cup winning matches last season. :-(
The three Mc's to keep their fine form going, Mclean, McGinn and McGowan and St Mirren edging another 2.1 win. Let's hope so.
