I would wager that the players are coached up the wahoo. It's more about confidence or the complete lack of it. I got carried away with the signings and was in my seat way too early on Saturday and watched Falkirk warm up. They didn't have a care in the world. Miller, Sibbald, Baird et al all having a ĺaugh. They looked gallus and confident. It's a shrink we need not another coach.

Disappointing as we do like to think some of the team are playing for the jerseys - particularly the boys that come through the academy from a young age. No doubt we will be slammed as deluded. Personally I think £200k is pretty decent in this case particularly if there is a sell on. Still doesn't make you feel great about being a Saints fan though.

Just heard Celtic offered Christian Ajer to Saints. Centre forward/ Centre half. We said not good enough. The 60 year old Celtic coach said that at 60 he was he good enough never mind Ajer. The boy has now signed for Kilmarnock. Worrying.

Given that our best academy talent has a habit of running down their contracts pretty quickly after they break into the first team and the fact that we don't seem able to attract big transfer fees for them do you think our academy is still the best way to go or are we better using our limited cash resources to run a smaller but better first team squad?
