I'd like that. I would love Love LOVE for Gogic to come back. If he was to be CB, if we go 3 at the back, who is dropped from Fraser, Shaunghessy and Dunne?

I think we could be after both with  Gogic potentially as a central defender .

How does that help anyone feel welcome?
People come or not entirely for their own reasons.
Nobody needs to justify the self and everyone should be made to feel welcome... Even if it is only for a cup final.

In 2013 I bought 6 tickets and brought 4 neutrals to join us 2 ST holders.
    They were not glory hunters.
They came along and supported Saints at my request.
Many people attend games like that for nostalgic reasons. They are no less welcome.
A large number of fans return from abroad for such an occasion. Hardly practical to watch a league match but wholly understandable for a special occasion.
Rather than label them glory hunters, I'd simply welcome them to the fold.

I actually enjoy the " lottery " of signing unheard of players from.the English lower leagues . Let's have a few more and see what we get .

If he comes I think he will come in as part of a player / coach package . Thing is my feeling is we already have digned that player when we offered Ryan Flynn a new contract . I do though would like him to sign .

What I like about Gogic is that he,s  able to play in Central defence . Wouldn't be surprised to see him play next to big Joe next season .

I'm expecting at least six signings from England.  Martin Foyle isn't going to be a paid a wage for just recommending two or three players .

I think the player that can break up an attack and very quickly drive forward with the ball is hugely underestimated . Against St Johnstone Gogic did exactly that , which allows our attackers much more space to play in.

One thing that got me thinking was the difference Gogic could have potentially made to out starting 11, if Goody had managed to sign him first time round before he went to Hibs a couple of years ago.

I would like to see Gogic play in a back three and be the player that can carry the ball forward from defence or move into a holding midfield role if there is a change of set up mid game .
As for Brophy, I always thought he played well , even if he wasn't among the goals .  Our play is often too tippy tappy and allows teams to get behind the ball to easy .
I'm hoping the players we are signing will allow us to transition from defence to attack a lot faster .

I met the big fella at the horse racing in the mid-90s (either Musselburgh or Perth, can't remember which), he was working as a prison officer at the time. Lovely guy, worthy of recognition in our HoF.

A few folks posted videos of Baccus on the forum. Looks good in these and write ups from his present teams fans seem to suggest that he is a popular player.High tempo I suspect.

Maybe get top 6 that way ?
What is wrong with Carson ?
We are current not very good and that was the case under Goodwin which Robinson is paying a heavy price for.
Bet he can't wait to get players in who he knows well and can improve us

I agree with Slarti on this point. There are other variables to consider. You HAVE to take into account the players and their reaction to losing the guy who brought them into the squad. Losing JG at such a crucial time must have had some sort of impact. Then having another guy walk in trying to put his stamp on the team must also have an effect. There was no chance of a new manager upward bounce given the previous results since the turn of the year.
I also still think there was a good chance things would have turned sour even if JG had remained at the helm. I certainly don't think we pulverised teams during that undoubted purple patch. I do think we might have scraped a couple of draws as that was Jim's speciality.

    Morecambe fan here!
As you can imagine, a great many of us south of the border are keeping a bit of an eye on what's going on at St Mirren. There is a certain element of schadenfreude about the situation - although to be clear this is directed entirely at Robinson and O'Carroll, and not at St Mirren fans!
For the lowdown on Robinson with us - he came in at quite a difficult time. He only had three contracted players and essentially had to build a large amount of the squad from scratch. Not to mention he was starting a month behind most clubs due our play-off campaign.
He recruited some decent players but there were unfortunately a couple of pretty key gaps - a big aerial centre back, a defensive midfielder and our goalkeepers were very poor.
Started the season well, I think largely due to 'good vibes' following promotion and Cole Stockton being ridiculously good, but then around November/December the weaknesses began to catch up with us and our form and results took an absolute nosedive.
Robinson generally blamed personnel (although he did admit responsibility for this in his recruitment) and in fairness to him, he wasn't wrong. Anthony O'Connor has been a good signing at the back but his centre back partners were incredible weak, and he had goalkeepers underperforming behind him. I thought the set-up of the team overall was good and we pressed very smartly and efficiently, but every time the opposition got into our final third it was always incredibly dangerous.
Come January, Robinson absolutely sorted those problems out. Got a good keeper in Trevor Carson, a couple of good centre backs and a defensive midfielder to be used when called for. Suddenly, we looked far stronger as a team and even our attacking productivity even improved as well - guessing this was partly due to them having more confidence in our defence. Also helped that our two best attacking midfielders managed to shake off some injury troubles.
Got a couple of great wins in January, and performances continued to be at a high standard into February. Despite results not going our way, a lot of this was due to bad luck, some bizarre circumstances and good goalkeeping/bad finishing. I'd cautiously predict that if Robinson had stayed, results would have started to turn in our favour a bit more often as the performances were there.
So the irony is, he left just as he was beginning to sort things out and find a bit of a groove. Now he appears to be back at square one with St Mirren, albeit with a vastly higher salary! I'd say he is a good manager and worth giving time to, but results have gone to pot particularly drastically which is quite alarming. Not sure he's got much of a leg to stand on if you get relegated - although I'm not sure how likely this is as I'm not too clued up on the teams around you etc.
Oh and an Obika update! He's just been incredibly unfortunate. Got a massive hamstring injury in pre-season which kept him out until the end of December, and then understandably took time to find a bit of mojo again. He's also playing second fiddle to Stockton, who is absolutely undroppable and has been incredible this season with 21 league goals.

At this stage with the squad we have it's looking like a sort of 3-3-3-1 formation or 3-2 -4-1 formation for the first few games , or until we get a full squad . First game against Livvy is massive

He will have to drop a couple of divisions if he see his future in management, even coaching me think or stay where he's handsomely paid for now.

My first thought was that Goodie was on £100k a year and the £250 comp was the outstanding balance of his contract was his agreed release fee . With a further £50k being compensation for Lee Sharp . I,m also wondering if the £85k mentioned as Robertsons release fee was a years wages and was maybe agreed in his contract .
    Purely speculation..just what I think .
