Played well yesterday and deserved a point. Thought all the new boys looked good.

Spoke to Stephen McGinn after the game and he said he's got an injury that'll keep him out for a few weeks.

Think a central midfield 3 of McGinn, Flynn and Foley would be solid as f**k.

After such a horrific opening to our 2019/20 season, huge kudos as always to those Buddies who travelled to Easter Road with nothing but hope for encouragement.
Well done one and all.
 

Considering some of the new recruits just arrived this week, I thought that was a superb performance from every player including the subs. Although Hibs had the better of the chances,  we had some very good ones of our own. 
Very organised from start to finish,  unfortunately just switched off at their goal although it was well worked.  
If we bring that type of performance every week, we'll be more than fine.

There's only one heavenly being I'm wanting us to sign. And he definitely exists.

Good first half. No-one is playing badly but I think Foley and Flynn have been brilliant.

He turned 8 goals in 16 games against Premier League opposition in his time with us.

I reckon you’d need to go back to Doug Somner to find a St Mirren striker with a better goal scoring ratio in the top flight.

If 8 goals in 16 games against Premier League opposition isn’t consistent then I don’t know what is!

He scored 8 goals - all against Premier League opposition - in 16 games for us, including 2 in 2 games against Celtic and that goal in the League Cup Final.
Getting into goalscoring positions was indeed his strong suit. An extremely strong suit in fact.

Goncalves has been a consistent 1 in 3 striker over his entire career. Guys like that at clubs our level don't come around very often. 
He'd be an absoulte stand out for us, if there is even a slight, slight sniff of getting him back then targeting him should be a priority. 

Let's hope he is as successful with St Mirren as a previous Sammy.

Obika is pretty well known, was highly thought of at Spurs in his early career.
We watched the lad from Hull last season and asked about buying him, but was out our price range.
Whether or not Jim was thinking about them back in May means f**k all. We are/were aware of them. I thought you had worked at St Mirren, surely you’d know that?

Absolutely spot on. Seems to have been a bit of research went into this player and he has played at a decent level. A more inspiring signing than Longridge with all due respect.
 

Because the window closes 4 games in and I dare say that rather than panicking and signing any old shite to make us 'prepared' when initial targets like Verheydt didn't materialise, we're going for alternatives of a similar standard. 
Completely theoretical here but what if someone very good and interested became available for loan in last two weeks of window but we weren't even in position to approach as we'd already beefed the squad out? 
What if we missed out on the lad Durmus (who has played quite regularly at a good level) because we'd already signed Longridge for that position 3 weeks ago just so we were prepared? 
I do understand the concerns but I think that it's always going to be a waiting game for us. It's been a far from ideal pre season but you can only work within the constraints and we were constrained with managerial change and initial targets like Erwin and Verheydt going elsewhere. 
Still plenty of quality out there.

Quite a few people think that Cooke is not good enough, because they've seen him play and have formed their opinion on that basis.
I think he'll make decent back up to our first choice strikers, when they are signed.🙄

Surely they are all St Mirren signings. We need to drop this "Gus" signing or "Goody" signing. It just won't be working like that. How they come to our attention is irrelevant.

If you want to see an absolute joke, you should pop over to another thread where some spangle called Big something or other slaughtered Gus for something Bobby Williamson said. He then followed that cracker up with a wee gem about how we should offer a contract to a 34 year old striker who scored 5 goals last season for Ayr.
Honestly I've had trouble wiping the smile off my face over the last couple of days.

I liked Div Barron. Felt sorry for him because of injury woes but he was certainly decent enough.
