Buddie-Boy reacted to Stevie88 in Speculation Thread
Would be a good signing. Probably too good & doesn’t fit the profile of player that Stubbs likes .... centre half or centre mid, shite & hardly any first team appearances.

Anyone old enough to remember some of the signings he made when manager will be glad he never. [emoji38] -

I would suggest its more a case of them not wanting to give Stubbs any more money to spend based on the standard of players he has brought in so far.
If we've got cash, which we probably do, i wouldn't trust him with it.

Especially when that £75,000 player is not considered good enough by the manager to get in the first team.

Hmm does he have a bigger budget?
we got £500k for winning the league
£300k for Morgan
£40k for Stewart
£1m from McGinn sell on
we spent £75k on Heaton
and we are relying on half a dozen loanees, and a handful of free agents.
so where has the best part of £2million gone..? Thats the question that needs answered!

Correct.
Livi have won 2 successive promotions by just hoofing the ball up the pitch.
They just sacked Kenny Miller cos he was trying to get them to pass the ball out from the back.
They have now reverted to hoofing it up the park and they’ll stay up.
We should be hoofing it up the park as well. There isn’t any point to passing or trying to keep possession.
It’s a fecking bag of air. You’re trying to get that bag of air into the opponents goalposts and stop it going into yours. Any nice football that goes on in between is irrelevant.
It’s that feckin simple -

Glad to know that you are supportive of the manager - so am I.
Experience has taught me that taking over management of any organisation or team has its ups and downs.
Some employees welcome the change and adopt and adapt quickly.
For others they go through a process which include denial and resistance before acceptance.
The manager has difficult choices to make and it is hard to keep all stakeholders happy.
Some of the very best performing individuals often experience the greatest difficulties in handling the changes.
The manager needs to be future focussed and resolute.
As long as the board support him fully then Alan Stubs appears to be both.
But... As a fan and supporter, like any other, I am tempted to take the easy route and find fault when things don't immediately go our way.
I am prepared to be patient and look to the board to support the manager in recruitment and in moving players on should he think it needed.
Doesn't mean that I don't have views on our performances this season or on decisions made... But I respect the right of the manager to make them.
The board will hold him accountable.... That's part of their role.
Meanwhile Div is entitled to his opinions as much as the rest of us surely?

I agree, he needs to go. Players look devoid of any confidence at all. Especially the defence. Can’t see anything other than relegation by a large margin if he stays.

It need not be. If we change the management team quickly then we might limit the damage. -

Changed my mind.... can’t give that coaching team any more time. No fight, no desire, no hope. Livingston are average yet look like a great team against us. I’ve kinda had this nagging feeling about him not being the right guy from the start but wanted to give him the chance. We will go down unless we get rid of Stubbs... the players don’t fight for the guy .. totally apparent after today.

Is there any limit to the number of loan players allowed at a club?

Not sure if 4-2 is a thrashing, but in the early 80s we were quickly 2-0 down at home to Celtic - before coming back to win 4-2. Scanlon scored a volley from the half way line. Great game.
